Well now, since https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/info/announcements/11743-major-apology/#post191536 happened, I guess I get a second chance to ask...

I want to know if the routine "card changing" by the house has any affect on the game. I've heard that for hand shuffled games, the cards are "better" immediately before, rather than immediately after they are changed. For single and double deck games, I can't notice the difference, but for shoe games I'm not sure if hand shuffling by a human is enough to sufficiently randomize multiple decks.

Also, one of the casinos I play at does not wash the cards when they change them. I want to know if omitting this step adversely affects the randomization process. They immediately perform the "house shuffle" one time and then begin play. For the pitch games, the house shuffle consists of stripping the cards 5-8 times, followed by 3 riffles. The height of the stacks used during the riffle can vary in size, but are always within 4 mm of each other. For the shoe games, I'm still trying to document the procedure used.

I remember reading some very interesting and in depth articles on this and I'm fairly certain it was on Arnold Snyder's site or was it a book? Sorry I don't have a link but it's worth a search because it should answer all your questions. Anybody?

The consensus was in general, it doesn't matter.
