It's been 151,007 hands since my last royal flush and am in another royal drought. I have slipped back down to only 2.5% above my low point for the year. Running at about a 95% return over those hands which at a 99.71% game just means when things go bad they seem to stay bad for me lately.
BUT!
After getting to only 1,762,857 tier credits I got the call. I am now officially at Noir level. I'll post a picture of my card when I pick it up in a few days.
I guess losing a lot of money means more than getting to 2 million tier credits.
Now I have just seven months to get back to even. I'll even settle for recouping half my losses.. Lol.
Congrats on Noir!
it's 8tc per point: 1,762,857 tc = 220.4k points
for the dstp in the high limits room, it's $35 coin-in per point = $7.7M coin-in
Your loses are around $20k?
20k / 7.7M = .26% = 99.7% return which is the return of your DSTP JoB game, and slightly above the dstp ddb you played earlier this year.
You're running at avg.
And only losing $20k is amazing to get Noir!
(unless my math is wrong???)
don't be like me and use your upgraded status to the fullest!
(I've done squat with my Platinum tier so far this year. heck, I haven't been to MGM in 3 months even though they are giving me $40 slotplay per week.))

If cmlotito quit playing right now, what would be a good estimate of the "cash equivalent" value he could extract/enjoy with Noir status before it expires?

I dont think I ever said how far I was behind this year. 20k? No, I'm behind more than that. If i misled anyone i apologize. I built up such a huge bankroll from 2017 and 2018 that i am blowing thru a good portion of it this year. However, I cant give it all back as I have bought a few things. At MGM National Harbor lifetime alone I am ahead more than I could possibly give back. Well, if I went on a losing streak for a few years I suppose I could. It's hard to give back what I no longer have. I think that's a good thing.
As for my loss rate, it is way above expectations. So much so that one might think the machines are gaffed. Lol.
At Noir status points on those machines are $24 per point. It was $26.25 at platinum.
Quote: GWAEUnless I am missing something noir seems pointless. The only benefits are increased comp earning and a free cruise.
Only reason I wanted to get it was increased comp earning for promotions. 40% bonus vs 30% bonus for platinum means less coin in to attain same benefits. Also, some of the promotions seem to be slightly better at noir from what I have seen the last couple years. I dont expect to play enough to keep it past the expiration in 2020.
As for coin in to get it. I did about 3.7 million coin in last 3 months of 2018 and about 1.7 million coin in at National Harbor this year. Plus about 400k at borgata this year.
Went 3 times since last update. Won a little the first trip, nothing major. Second trip was a 14 hour marathon playing Boner Poker. I lost all of my profit since my recovery from my low point for the year. It was just a steady decline with the occasional 300-400 hit but nothing that would get me close to even. Only thing it did was make me swear off Bonus Poker unless my intention is to put thru a lot of coin in. I put in 200k that day. By the end I was glad it was over.
Then I went today with a friend just to have some fun. I had no intention of making a recovery of any kind. But, the machine had a different idea.
20th deal in....
836 deals later...
57 deals later... (and 119,627 deals since my last one, not counting multistrike)
https://youtu.be/Fu5lj7_uw7A
Funny moment near the end of the video.
And then this f*ck*ng near miss. The multiplier appeared in the 5th spot on the deal after the first 4 royal cards were dealt.
https://youtu.be/LbpCV9d_NC8
The video summarizes my year so far pretty well.
I then get these before my day ends. Recovered almost al the losses from my previous trip. Like it never even happened except for that 14 hour waste of time.
And the day ender
Hopefully today was not a dead cat bounce. Time will tell.
Oh, and my host said she will be mailing me a welcome packet to Noir. Can't wait to see what it is.
Nice dealt AWAK!!! And the latter half was pretty funny.
it seems like it's feast or famine for you.
and 14hrs playing vp?!
my arms and shoulders were sore when I did 8hrs at @$2 9/6 JoB for DiaD at Caesars a few years ago.
and I was in shape back then!
How are you doing cm?
Haven't seen you post in a while.
M life Rewards tier status – whether NOIR, Platinum, Gold or Pearl – earned in 2019 or in 2020, will be extended through Monday, Jan. 31, 2022.
With this extension, MGM also is changing its earning year to Jan. 1 through Dec. 31 from what's historically been Oct. 1 to Sept. 30, extending benefits an additional three months and moving to an easier to understand and track calendar earning year. In addition, expiration of any Points or Express Comps™ has been suspended through Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2020.
Well, 2019 will definitely go down as the worst year I ever had gambling. Only thing that went "right" was Horseshoe Baltimore sent me some incredible offers for November and December and I was able to recoup a few thousand dollars from all the free play they thru at me. I had gone in August to play craps and ended up playing a lot for a couple days of play. $25 pass line and would work my odds up to over $900 (from as low as $25) a few times (they have 100x odds) I think when they rated me they must have counted odds as part of my rating. I did lose at craps but the offers far outweighed the losses.
I used that money to play early into 2020 until the paytables got slashed at MGM National Harbor on February 13, 2020.
The reason they got slashed was there was one high limit player who kept complaining to the slot supervisor about 5 cent players hogging the 3 good machines. His reasoning was those machines in high limit should not have nickel and quarter denominations on them. He got tired of showing up and all machines being taken. I told him he should get there at 6am like I did but he felt he shouldn't have to.
Well, they eventually listened. Almost all games that had good paytables slashed (except for 96 DDB 3/5/10 play) and the denominations went from nickel/quarter/dollar to $1/$2/$5. They also added 5 and 10 play to the dollar level on the carnival games (including DSTP but it was now 7/5, no thank you.)
Both he and I tried to talk them into reinstating previous pay tables but to no avail. They said the previous pay tables were a mistake (that lasted over 3 years). I even sent a few emails about it. The response I got was along the lines of "your ahead $xxxx at National Harbor, you don't need good pay tables." When my host said this to me was "wow, I'm ahead way more than they think I am." :)
I went one more time after 2/13/20 to play off freeplay and then everything shut down. And I had no intention of ever going back. Not for fear of getting sick (I work in a grocery store) but because the best game they had now was 9/6 DDB. And I played too much of that crap game in 2017 and early 2018 to ever want to play that again beyond a dabble here or there.
Never went again until today, 10/7/20.
I'll make a separate post about that if anyone is interested in what happened and why I went back.

Makes me wonder if that would have worked on the 240k jackpot. Could I have downloaded it and cashed it out onto a TITO then go to the cage to cash it? That would be interesting. Anyone know what the limit is on a TITO ticket to print at a machine? I know that when I played thru the 10k in free play a couple years ago the machine (a 100 play) started spitting out TITO's every time the win put the credits over $10,000. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a limit as to how large a jackpot can be downloaded to the machine versus requiring a hand pay. Hopefully I will gather some data on this soon.
If you had a $10K free play, and it's spitting a TITO out when you go above $10K credits, it looks like it's skimming all positive swings to the TITO, and is not related to a normal limit. If it wasn't free play, I don't think it would be spitting out a TITO above $10K credits on every win. If you have $55K on a TITO, you could just play another machine right away with it. I might not be so trusting of a little piece of paper. What if it gets jammed in the machine?

The TITO limit is usually set by the individual casinos. From my experience most casinos have a default limit between $3000 and $5000. Obviously they can set it higher on high limit machines. Most casinos will not allow you to transfer large amount of free play in one transaction. Free play is known to the slot machines as non-cashable credits.
I've never seen Free Play in action, so this is a first for me. The guy does $1.00 spins, $1.00 gets deducted when he spins, then a Bonus Award of $1.00 appears when the spin is over in addition to any winnings. He is just using one TITO card and moving from machine to machine. He had to put $1.00 cash into the machine so he could bet the first spin and get refunded for it, so he should subtract that $1.00 from his final tally (he did it twice so subtract $2.00).
He's back with better machines and a bigger Free Play!

I won't say my way is any better. But, I usually run my freeplay thru one time (normally on video poker) after I am done gambling and then immediately leave the casino. That way I will leave with some money in my pocket no matter how i did gambling. And sometimes I've been known to hit jackpots while playing off my free play. That's always a plus.
interesting.. never thought of it that way.Quote: cmlotitoI won't say my way is any better. i always use my freeplay at the beginning of the day.
but if you're chasing points (ie: Caesars 2.5k points for 5k bonus tier points), i dont think it matters when you play the freeplay.
Anyway, how was your year with the Noir/Black card.
What great freebies and perks did you get during the past 12months?

My favorite freeplay story is getting $100 in freeplay and on my second hand I got four deuces with an Ace on Deuces Wild Bonus Poker and it paid $20,000.

Damn, that was nice. I started with $850 in free play and got this on my second hand.
I hit that on September 4, 2018. Too bad I lost almost almost 7 grand earlier. Went home not so broke at least.
