A couple of very interesting photos have shown up on Instagram recently. One posted by the Hard Rock in Tampa, and one posted by a patron. The former features a Baccarat table with approximately $65,000,000 in the tray, including plaques of $20,000, $50,000 and $100,000, and ruby chips of $500,000. The latter picture is a closeup of the $500,000 chip.

$500,000 chip

What stakes do they offer in the high limit room to justify having a $500,000 chip? And why would a chip be made for a higher denom than a plaque?

I might be totally wrong, but to me it just doesn't look right. My daughter worked in Rules and Regulations in their corporate Hollywood, Fl offices for over a decade and I know Hollywood which supposedly dwarfs Tampa's property. First, the layout looks all wrong with 4 seats. Commission rack looks wrong in proportion if that was true. I have played in the largest Vegas Strip properties in HL rooms and never saw anything close to it. Played in private saloons in the rear of the HL with friend's several times, normally don't. Don't believe I ever saw more than 5M in a rack, but for sure would never have been over 10m max, even at the largest places in Vegas. I know in Vegas and AC every chip on the floor has to be covered by cash in the vault as well. I don't buy it's 60 something million, sorry.

Again, all IMO, might be true and correct, but I have to doubt it a tad bit. Also, never saw a chip in Vegas or AC larger than $25k.
Bac79=Hazardous Material and Chemical person correcting other's mistakes. Non AP'er, I can't count cards, low intelligence. Sprinkles magical dust on the cards. Has a lucky monkey. Baby also has a green one. Sum it up: "It's okay just blame me, it's all my fault"! ( No one believes me--so I chose to stop posting)

Here's some more substantiation. A news report from Fox 13 News, Tampa. This is apparently very recent.
