Oh yeah....
Quote: GWAEQuite a few places have hand pay set on 1k. Makes no sense to me either.
It makes sense to the employer IF they are paying the staff low wages..... let the winners make up the difference in what the slot attendants earn towards a living wage
When I was in Red Deer Alberta the two very small casinos had the machines lock up at $200 on the penny machines.... the slot attendants made good coin ( and yes it usually was just a few coins ...loonies or toonies ( look it up LOL) they got each time they paid one out
Last time I asked at Caesars Windsor what the magic number was the reply was $2500..... hurts the slot attendants total compensation for sure but if you are AMERICAN and you hit for $2499 well the machine spits out a TITO and you can cash it in without any paperwork involved.... hell anything UNDER $10,000 requires no paperwork or ID

How the heck does that Royal pay 4700?!?Quote: WizardofnothingOne more for good measure

Joker Poker. Notice the J(W)
Quote: teddysHow the heck does that Royal pay 4700?!?
Royals pay 4700 or 4000 on JP (Kings) depending on the paytables. I'd say paytables with 4000 or 4700 are roughly equally likely, in my experience, but would defer to someone who has played the game in more casinos.
Quote: teddysHow the heck does that Royal pay 4700?!?
50/100 play Deuces Wild w/STP often pays 5600 for a natural royal. Why? No effing clue. The 4700 makes a little sense at least...$1175 at quarters, just below the tax threshold.
Quote: IbeatyouracesDamn it!! Wrong game again!!
Might not be good for you in the monetary sense but that's a 9/6 jacks paytable so I'm assuming you have some way to make it +EV and that's a win right there.
I hate playing DDB, too much volatility and money tied up in getting a premium 4oak, AND a kicker. Also I hate 1 for 1 2 pair games. The only game I enjoyed recently with chopped off low paying hands is Deuces Wild Bonus. Pays 1 for a straight and 3 for a FH but the 5oaks are more satisfying.

3 for a full house at Bonus Deuces? You must have a decent promo yourself...haha We have full pay in STL, but I never have done well on the game when I've tried to play it. Best hands on quarters, 5 Aces twice.
But hands like Ibeatyouraces displays is a big reason why a boatload of people play DDB and nothing else. My g/f got Aces w/a kicker when playing Jacks once, and she's usually avoided Jacks ever since. Unless I tell her, "you really should play this game because...", she will always pick DDB.
Anyway, I'm down to about $20 or maybe less. I get dealt 3 aces. I think, "Oh cool, with a few multipliers already lined up, I'm going to get a couple extra bucks so I can keep playing." I hold the aces, hit draw, and the machine locks up. I had experienced this before, where the door opens and a slot attendant has to come by and close it or whatever, but I knew if I just hit the machine a few times the door usually closes. So I hit the machine a few times trying to close the door. I look at the screen and it says "CALL ATTENDANT" -- I'm like yea no sh*t the door is open!! Then the call attendant thing goes away and it says "JACKPOT, $2,000 HANDPAY" [well like $207.50 or whatever]. Still a bit confused, even seeing I hit four of a kind with a multiplier, no way should it pay that much, maybe $100 or $150. Well, sure enough, I hit AWAK with a 4x multiplier on the middle line. First hand-pay ever.
Quote: RSWhen I first heard about UX, I tried playing it one day at the casino, just for fun and to learn how it worked. I hadn't even understood the concept of vulturing multipliers. I was playing a triple play game for quarters on DDB and was only willing to put up $100 for the fun/learning endeavor. Mind you, up to this point I've only really ever played JOB and occasionally BP.

Great story, thanks! Been there, done that (been befuddled by an unexpected jackpot win - told elsewhere here.)

This was at Greektown so I doubt it's +EV, but who knows. I make good money and am entitled to be a "ploppy" once in a while :-)
I started with $54 and shortly before this had quad jacks.
Lousy night for multipliers, getting a clear picture, and picking the right game when dealt quad aces.
Quote: IbeatyouracesI don't understand you people draw on dealt quads when kickers don't matter. Are you all hoping for a natural five of a kind only to have the entire win voided?
When the muscle memory kicks in and kickers do matter, I don't want to accidentally hold a 7 instead of drawing.
Quote: DieterWhen the muscle memory kicks in and kickers do matter, I don't want to accidentally hold a 7 instead of drawing.
My issue is hitting the draw button slightly before holding cards. Did it the other day with a pair of 5's. Only held one.
"Huh? No chirps? 2 pair always pays... oops."
Quote: IbeatyouracesDamn it!! Wrong game again!!
Aha! Right game, same hand!!
Wrong game!
Right game, no multiplier!
And again! Right game, NO MULTIPLIER!
How come the dealt premium hands never seem to fall after a dealt full on UX?
Question: How comes you didn't hold your 5th card with the 4 deuces? If the machine malfunctions on the draw you don't get paid =/.

When's the last time you've experienced that or seen a picture of it?
Plus I got $500 insurance against it happening, that's why I don't hold the fifth card.
Because I'll pay to see it.Quote: IbeatyouracesI don't understand you people draw on dealt quads when kickers don't matter. Are you all hoping for a natural five of a kind only to have the entire win voided?
I'm sure it's happened but I have seen and played millions of hands, spent thousands of hours in casinos, yet I haven't seen it, I don't know anyone that has seen it.
Only pussycats hold all 5 cards.
Quote: RomesQuestion: How comes you didn't hold your 5th card with the 4 deuces?
I figure there's about a 1 in 47 billion chance of a malfunction, and if it happens, the souvenir photograph is worth the $250.
Edit: Pretty sure I could autograph prints of the photograph, and sell at least 50 of them for $5 a pop.
I don't think it makes any statistical difference since the odds are so slim... Just more of a "eh, why not?" than anything else.Quote: rsactuaryI laugh at the people who think holding five cards and hitting the draw button vs holding four cards and hitting the draw button makes a difference.
Sequential straight flush on a complete redraw:

If you're doing a big coin-in play on multi-line, holding 5 cards is better than 4. :)
But yeah, I've started only holding 4 card 4oaks, especially cuz of Axel's $500 bounty on it.
Perhaps I should go grind out the $0.01 1-credit VP games somewhere and hope for a machine malfunction. I actually know of a way to make a different game (not VP) malfunction. Axel, if I do that, will I get the $500? :)
Looks like a fun trip!

Heh, all the possibilities to stay under 1200 denied by the one hand which doesn't, other than the royal.
And also a hand missing the royal by 1, for 20k.
Yeah, that would get a sigh from me.
And so no one gets any funny Ideas, that offer now only extends to people I trust, and Video proof and employee verification is required. Get it soon, because eventually offer will disappear. Glitches can happen.
I actually have a series of photos of a recent rare glitch on a machine. The situation was so rare that the machine didn't know what to do. Eventually I'll post the story and what happened along with photos(RS Remind me ill send you pictures)
It almost cost me hundreds of dollars. Luckily I had witnesses and proof. I WON'T BE DOING THAT EVER AGAIN(unless I have less than a few bucks on the machine, but ill be ready to record)

I'm curious, what is this bounty RS is speaking about?
Quote: Exoter175I'm curious, what is this bounty RS is speaking about?
$500 if you have a 5 of a kind (no wilds)....or rather, a machine malfunction because you held 4 of a kind and drew a fifth card of the same value.
I think AlexWulf partially retracted in saying the bounty is only live for those whom he knows/trusts.
Double ugh...
I just cannot get one holding four!

Can't tell. But hope you didn't hold the straight over 4-to-royal.
Edit: oh nvm I see. Why would you click hold on those 5 though just to take a pic? I'd hold the royal cards then take a pic. Then draw. Then another pic?
Then a few min later almost another dealt one!
Not much from the bonus games :(
but Had a great session (~$600 coin-in):
4 wild royals
4 straight flushes
2 5oak!
At the height of my session, I was +$425. (not bad on a .25 denom machine)
but the streak stopped. I went down to $375. told myself i'll cashout when I hit $350 or $400.
I went up to $400 and of course I changed my limit at cashing out to $500 while keeping my stop at $350.
i dropped below $400 almost immediately and eventually cashed out at +$350.
What would you have done at the +$375 mark?
-Cashed out immediately?
-also set $350/$400 limits and STUCK TO IT?
-also set $350/$400 and moved it to $350/$500 on this hot machine?
or?
Royal Flush draw w/lots of multipliers!
i didnt take the 'After pic' because the best I got was a flush :(
flush is only 15 credits on max bet in DW.
(don't remember which multiplier)
a wild Royal with the 8x multiplier would have been $100 x 8 = $800 :(
Quote: IbeatyouracesNot quite a royal, but it pays the same. Can you spot it?
TDB Four Aces w/kicker, great hit!
