At first I didn't realize how much I had won but from the noise and animation I knew it was a lot. Here's the total for the bonus:
That was almost twice as much as I had ever won on a slot machine up until that point. It was a HUGE win for me. That was on a Monday and that win gave me a nice stake for playing video blackjack and vp. I earned enough points to have quite a few entries in the car drawing that Friday. Only I had never been called for any drawings at this casino. My mom would get called frequently even when I had more entries. Me? Never. That Friday we were there for a few hours and we didn't get called and it was about time to leave. I told my mom "Let's wait another 20 minutes until the 5pm drawing." Turned out to be a really good decision. They called my name. I got $100 free play and an entry in the midnight drawing.
I came back at midnight which guaranteed me getting another $100 free play at minimum. The 45 names called during the day were in a small drum and they pulled out 5 names - you had to be present to win. In the order they were called they chose one of 5 envelopes. I didn't expect to hear my name but I was surprised when I was called fourth. For some reason I immediately thought "I'm taking the one on the left". Of course I only had two envelopes to choose from but I almost took the one on the right, maybe because I'm right handed, then I remembered what I had thought and took the one on the left.
We all opened our envelopes at once and I was SHOCKED to see the word "CAR" in my envelope. Everyone else won money ranging from $250 to $2500. I honestly would have been happen with anything. The car I won was a Camaro but they actually give you a voucher for $30,000 good for anything at the Chevy dealer. I took the cash option instead: $21,000. They took me to the cashier and paid me in 100's. Nice. No taxes withheld. They asked if I wanted a security escort to my car but I said I was going to go play craps. I won another $300 and so did my buddy. I tipped out about $450 total that night.
The Friday after I won the car we were back again playing bingo along with my sister. My mom's name was called for the car drawing. She wasn't too happy that she had to come back at midnight for the drawing! We left the casino about 5:15pm and at 6pm my sister called me from the casino to tell me they had called my name again. Damn. Since I wasn't there they had to call another name - they called my sister! She only had 11 entries for the drawing. I had paid for her bingo that day and she had won $300 then she got $100 free play for getting her named called. We went back at midnight and they called my sister's name and she ended up with the $500 envelope. Best day at a casino she's ever had before or since. My mom was satisfied to have $200 free play.
Two weeks later I won $1,000 on bingo and got called for two more drawings. Nice streak totaling about 25 grand. That's HUGE win for me. More than I'd won total in my life! The money I gave to family and friends created even more winning. Sometimes you can spread the wealth and the luck.
I don't know if I'll ever win anything like that again. It sure was fun!
So often it seems that it's when you lower your bet that you hit something good. I was fortunate to do the opposite. Without that win I likely wouldn't have won the car.
Give Mom a big hug, and a few hundred too.
Remember, Moms only come one to a customer.
Good old slot martingale variation. You may want to keep that on the down low and charge for the system.Quote: PBguystarted betting 60 cents per spin. Nothing but losing spins. When I was about $60 down I got pissed and pressed the 3x bet for $180 per spin..

I noticed this was a penny machine. Do you mean that when you had lost $60 of your $85 that you bet three-times your 60-cent bet for $1.80 (dollar-eighty) and hit the payoff for $977 ??
Winning $977 with a dollar-80 bet is far better than winning $977 with a $180 bet!!!!

I noticed this too. I think there is a missing '.'.

The pic shows he was playing pennies and he bet 180 of them, :)
Quote:It was a slot that I had watched being played but never played myself. The big attraction is the multi-player pirate battle bonus. Should be $1.80

Yes! It was definitely $1.80 not $180. Whew that would be an expensive spin!
Thanks everyone it definitely was thrilling or maybe shocking is a better word. I'm pretty practical and knew heading to the casino that my odds of winning were 1 in 45. Obviously that's great odds compared to what you normally get but far from a sure thing. Another guy I know would play to get points with the specific goal of winning the car and while he got his name called for the drawing many times he never won the car.
The casino is Sycuan Casino in San Diego county one of many tribal casinos locally.

Fixed!
The funny thing is that I never bet that much per spin on a slot machine. Sometimes it pays off but obviously most of the time it would just result in a bigger loss.
What an exciting streak of good variance! Wow, and congrats to all your family; what fun.
