Sat through a few shoes of 8 deck lucky ladies black jack. I was getting ready to leave at the end of the current shoe. We were sitting with 6 of us at the table i am playing 3rd base (no real reason, just where i sat). Back to back hands I swear 30 low cards hit the table, I wasnt counting cards but I didnt see a face card for what seemed like 40 cards (may be an exaggeration but was close).

So in lucky ladies you have option of bonus bet, if you make a 20 you get paid acordingly

unsuited 20: 4 to 1
suited 20: 9 to 1
same card suited: 19 to 1
QhQh: 125 to 1

I had been throw the ocasional dollar on the bonus from time to time, but i rarely did. anyway after this massive surge of low cards i felt that a lot of face cards were left and the show was almost gone.

So, i started putting $5 on the bet.
lost first time
2nd time, lost

3rd time i throw $5 on it and a strange thing happened. the first 5 players got a face cards...shit!!!!

I got the Q of hearts!!!! yes, now i get a sweat. PLease god at least give me another 10.

3 of the 5 other players get 20s, dealer grabs my card...its the cutcard... then grabs the next card Q hearts!!!!!!!! bing!!!!! $600

Dealer then says hold on if i have a blackjack it pays 1000: 1 or $5000, dealer then flips up the King of spades, oh man i have a chance... he checks...no blackjack. guess story wouldve been cooler if dealer had blackjack...o well. was still a nice hit.

no i was not counting, but the amount of cards 9 and under was beyond the point where anyone with half a brain wouldve noticed (6 people playing and everyones first 2 cards were under 9 and everyone took at least 1 card it not 2-3...no face cards). I even mentioned it out loud and the dealer agreed with me. I said well i guess everyone is getting 20s next hand. :)

Having just launched a competing side bet to Lucky Ladies (Lucky Stiff), I feel conflicted sharing this but here goes:

I am watching the player action on a Lucky Ladies side bet at a tribal property in WA. Trying to get a sense of what kind of participation the casino is seeing on LL. Not a ton of action, I count 6 out of 46 players at the various tables giving LL a shot along with their main BJ wager. LL was available on every table of BJ that was open at the time.

I sit down at a table where two players are making the LL wager. They are betting $2.50 or $5 each hand. Hitting the normal 1 out of 9-10 hands, mostly the 4-1 but occasionally a suited 20 for the larger pay offs.

Then lighting in a bottle, double Queen of Hearts at the table and it hits on one of the two spots that are making the LL wager (5 players at the table). $2.50 bet wins $312.50. Dealer wanted floor to double check math when he came over as the $2.50 was giving him fits and a non-winning player at the table was saying it should be $317.50.....quite amusing.

Literally 20 minutes later the same guy hits the pair of Queen of Hearts again, this time with a $5 bet!

No dealer blackjack on either hit, but with odds of 1 in approximately 3400 hands, to hit is twice in the same shoe within 20 minutes was amazing. Other players were in shock as well and were getting excited to play it going forward until the dealer reminded them with a 6 deck shoe we are running a little lean on Queens of Hearts!

It sounds like me (almost). I was playing blackjack recently and got the Queen of hearts pair twice within 15 minutes. Alas, I had no money on the Lucky Ladies :(

Was anyone else at the table betting LL's? I bet you got a ration of "how incompetent you are for not betting LL's, that is where the money is.....blah blah blah!"

You can always come back with the fact that you already used your slot money allocation earlier in the day and those slots were paying out a lot better than 76% :-), but thanks for "helping me out"!

if speaking to me, yes at least half the table was betting the LL bet. - i know its a shitty bet, but i would lose a small edge over a long period of time then lose sleep over not betting a dollar to win alot more.

A guy a month ago or so was playing ultimate holdem and had was just betting the hand with no progressive bonus. He got the royal in the first 5 cards...99k he just missed out on... he still doesnt bet it. LOL

I would rather lose a buck a hand and know i am losing my ass on the dumb progressive bet long run than to miss out on a giant score, it would fuckin crush my soul...i do the same progressive bet on paigow (no i dont not bet the other bonuses, just progressive)
