So I read MGM is having some low level management get TAM cards in anticipation of the strike. F1 really seems like Snake oil for the locals. I remember for me on 10/27 it took 90 min to get from Henderson to Cesars, a drive that usually takes 20 min. I can't imagine the chaos that will ensue if MGM, Wynn, and Cesars have 35,000 walk off the job. I also read something about a contract agreement that if stuff goes bad F1 doesn't have to pay for the likely ton of money spent on fixing the roads and installing the seating. So 100,000 people come to town and many of their hotel reservations are cancelled due to lack of staff to care for them. Seems like Culinary should ask for a windfall since there is unlikely another option and hopefully people visiting will not cross the picket line.

Fill me in. There is about to be a strike by who? When is the deadline set by the union? Are you saying a union makes a single deal with Caesars/Wynn/MGM or that there are separate deals? Are you also saying that those big properties won’t honor reservations if there is a strike? I think they’d use management to provide substandard service before closing down….

The event is expected to bring thousands of tourists to the city, but it may be derailed after the Culinary Union asked race attendees not to cross any picket lines and to refrain from visiting hotels and casinos where there is a labor dispute.

You must be some sort of riff raff. I can get TWO seats in the Paddock Club for that $40k. And that INCLUDES the 4 night stay.

The ‘only 292’ rooms left means they priced it a little too high?

This sounds like one of those situations where if you can afford $40,000 on an F1 package you're probably a high roller and they'll give it to you for "free," but if you're silly enough to pay for it out of pocket they'll gladly take your money.

WynnCore has nearly 5000 rooms/suites. Maybe I’m naive, but I just don’t feel they have nearly that many high rollers that come close to qualifying for the (theoretical) $40,000 package as a freebie.

Stunned….. you can get a Vegas Hotel CHEAP during the race. Rio/Flamingo/Paris NOT expensive. Rio before fees was $62 a night.

That $40k is for the Paddock Club package. It's not something available for all 5000 rooms.
