3. Which players club seems to give the best comps (possibly for hotel rooms for future trips)?

Even a small to moderate amount of .25 video poker during a 2 day trip gets me free or very discounted room offers at Harrah's for five or six months after my stay. I don't know about the other places.

Eldorado has been sending me free rooms for even pretending I'm about to pull money out of my pocket at the tables. Circus Circus has been sending rooms for about 4 hours of full pay progressive 0.25 vp play.

if you can't get a free room in Reno in the winter during the week, well...just give up gambling ;)

If your looking for more bang for your buck I suggest you take up Silver Legacy on Virginia if you want to stay on the strip area, Cal Neva is a good locals casino, cheap food, drinks and not a bad scene for the college girls mid week.

Starting to plan my annual Reno trip in February - might be as long as 8 days this time.

So I noticed on vpfree2 that Elko has some insanely good VP paytables (100.76% $1 machines). Can anyone confirm that?

Also, how's the heat for counting in Wendover/Elko?

Which casinos in Reno, if any, have new player promotions, possibly upon presenting a high-level card from another property?

4th annual trip. Going with a buddy this time and looking to explore more casinos apart from downtown/pep/atl. I saw Western Village looks nice and Boomtown has a decent sign up bonus for their players card.

Also looking for restaurant ideas - just anything unique to Reno.

Silver Legacy, probably. Boomtown is very small. Heck, if you want a change in pace, Tahoe!

Silver Legacy is downtown and will be home base. We were thinking about Tahoe but I heard the gambling wasn't nearly as good as Reno.

This information may be out of date but the last I heard about Wendover is they even THINK that you MIGHT be card counting they boot you out and in the time it takes you to cross the street, they have phoned your description to the BJ pit boss at your alternative casino.
