I'm sure if we go all the way to Atlantic City we'll easily find $5 minimums for 3CP and they'll sit there playing and drinking having a great time all day.
But, I'm not so excited about the prospects of driving through the shore traffic and the Parkway craziness.
Anyone know if we'll find low Friday afternoon minimums for those games at places like Mt Airy, Sands, Resorts Catskills, Parx, etc. and be able to avoid AC?
Quote: Jmarch79Mount Airy would bet your best bet for $5 3CP on a Friday afternoon of the choices you mentioned. Even on a Saturday night, they typically only raise their 3CP to $10.
How is this place overall? I realize it's not AC... but I don't exactly want to walk in and instantly regret not going to AC, if you know what I mean. A lot of the reviews talk about overwhelming smoke smell. The photos online do look decent.
If you're just looking to play some three card with your buddies while having a beer or two, it's a decent option. Side note: the beer they serve through the cocktail server is draft Natuals Light. Yes, the crap you drink in college for $6/12 pack. Better off going to their center bar and paying $5 or $6 a beer.
For a day trip, you'll be fine. For a weekend or overnight, AC would be your best option.
Quote: ECoasterA bunch of my pals want to do a casino daytrip on Friday. They're low rollers and like to play stuff like 3 Card Poker, Craps, Video Poker, etc...

I wouldn't be so sure about AC. Not with 2 new casinos, summer, and holiday week.
You might be lucky with 3cp but that is probably the only game.
Quote: FleaStiffHeck, with new casino openings there is bound to be something somewhere that turns out to be special, so go to AC and if the traffic is too bad, drink to a bad decision. avoid that swill beer though... sounds like horse piss.
I had to laugh when I read your comment about beer.
In the 70's a writer was complaining about how all the beer manufactures were introducing 'Light' beers. His complaint was that all the new beers tasted like they were watered down. He felt that a good strong beer should taste like horse piss.
Maybe that's why I drink Scotch.

You young whippersnappers, my beer was $4 for 24 pack case of bottlesin college. I'm guessing Evenbob used to get his for less than one sheckel back in Mesopotamia.
