This is 1 of the 4 upstate New York casinos approved last year. It is just outside the village of Monticello, very close to the old Concord hotel location. It beat out a number of other big proposals, a few of which were much closer to NYC. The source of most of the gamblers is expected to be NYC. This casino will compete with AC, eastern Pennsylvania, and the CT tribal casinos.
The construction is going hot and heavy. You can go look at a web cam of the construction progress. We're not supposed to post links, right? So just Google MONTREIGN and the first site is the casino's. The web cam is up in the right hand corner.
This place will be 40 minutes from me, so assuming I can afford the minimums it will become my home base.
Looks like a nice place.Quote: BasesLoadedDidn't see any mention of Montreign here at WOV, so thought I'd add a thread.

Quote: DiscreteMaths2Are they stuck using Video Lottery Terminals and such or will it be a full blown casino ?
I thought they were planning to allow "Vegas Style" gaming in these upstate "resort casinos", but I see nothing in the current laws stating rules either way.
The current Racinos will still exist, but I assume they will really get hurt by this competition.
