Right now Golden Nugget is offering a promotion through June to tier match with other AC casinos. I heard some of the benefits you will get through this upgrade will be a "lite" version of the real deal. For instance, if you upgrade to "Elite" you won't get free admission to the Chairman's Club. Can anybody confirm or deny this? I can't seem to find definitive information regarding all the benefits of this promo.
You heard correctly. It absolutely is a "lite" upgrade. You get a special Elite card that clearly says "Trade Up" on the front. The benefits for upgrading to 24K Select Club Elite are the following: Earn the highest level of Cashback and Comp Dollars, 2 FREE Bingo boards for cardholder and 1 board for a guest, Special discount at The Buffet: Pay $10 Comp Dollars per person for up to 3 guests, 20% discount at participating retail stores and the Spa & Salon."
If you earn 12,500 tier credits (instead of 50,000) from the time you upgrade until the time the card expires (10/1/2018), you will receive a real Elite card that will get you the Chairman's Club Access, preferred check-in, etc.
I also wouldn't bet on other casinos honoring these special "trade up" cards for tier matching purposes. They are completing different colors than the actual cards and again, clearly state "trade up"....guess we will have to wait and see once someone tries it.
So it would appear Hard Rock would not honor this for their two free night promo? Bummer. How about "pool access", I figure the "elite lite" card won't get you that at GN either?
No, H20 pool access is not a benefit with the traded up Elite card. The only benefits are the ones mentioned above.
I am not certain if Hard Rock will honor these special trade up Elite cards for the two night offer. I suggest booking it and then playing dumb when you arrive. Calling and asking may bring unwanted attention.
My only concern with that is I'm left stranded with no nights upon check in. I wonder how they would play it. Maybe it's best to stick with my one night w/ TR Diamond.
It's absolutely up to you. I'd take the risk and play stupid if it was just a trip alone. If you have other people counting on the room too, I'd probably stick with the one night.
Reporting back. No issues. Got my free two nights and didn't even have to show my eligible competing casino card (which i found quite strange). My friend didn't need to show theirs, either. Nothing was stopping John Doe from calling and saying he had top status at a casino and just getting two free nights.
Something is stopping me lol
