The slots have a real-time points reader (that is the points climb as you go without having to pull your players card out and re-insert)

Every $3 wagered earned me a point when I was there

Thats not theo

Some casinos (like total rewards) have two different points schemes. Is a tier credit different from a point at ocean resorts?

ocean has same 2 different point schemes.

you said $3 coin-in = 1 point.
1 point = how many tier credits?

for me at 9/6 JoB, $10 coin-in = 1 point = 2 tc

It is still my understanding that tier points at Ocean are based on theoretical loss.

Not including any multipliers: $1 in theo = 3 tier credits.

at 9/6 JoB, $10 coin-in = 1 point = 2 tc (including 3x multiplier)
thus $15 coin-in = 3 tc with 3x.

so that must mean the computer thinks $15 coin-in = $1 in theo with 3x multiplier.
w/o the multiplier, then it's $45 coin-in = $1 theo in 9/6 JoB.

sidenote:
JoB has .5% house edge.
$45 x .5% = 22.5 cents theo, so I guess the computer is programmed $45 coin-in = $1 theo for ALL vp???

anyway, $5 coin-in = 1 tc with 3x.
I need 75k tc to maintain black.
$5 x 75k = $375k coin-in!!!!!!!!!
so when the multiplier expires at the end of sept, it will normally take $1.125M coin-in to reach black on 9/6 JoB!?!

How's my math?

My experience is the computer theo does not change with the multipliers in casino systems

Ex. Lets say you knew you needed 1000 points normally but there was a 3x multiplier. You would now need 3000 points for the same theo

Ie you would earn 1000 3x faster but only 1/3 the theo. The points are tripled but not the theo in calculations

Hope that helps

talked to an OCean supervisor.
he said there will be a 6x multiplier during Labor Day weekend to help people to maintain Black.

unfortunately, even with 6x, its impossible for me to make Black in a weekend on 9/6 JoB. :(

I remember Revel points were based on loss, not coin in. I much prefer Golden Nugget and CET where you know exactly how many tier points you're getting than the MGM point/tier system/comp system or hard rock comp system.

I went to Ocean to tier match and got a Black Card. First problem is they butchered my name spelling on it which I didn't notice until I left. I was given 115 in free play and only turned it into 36, slots were terrible. My wife got 38 back from her 100 free play.

My wife questioned whether we really only have until September to get the 75,000 points for to maintain the black card and they said yes and think the 3x multiplier makes that feasible. I already have top status everywhere else in AC, I'm not going to drop $100,000 trying to get their card in month. And I got the other cards working the system, taking advantage of bonuses, not because I spend a lot.

The next problem is they offered us 2 free rooms each since we both got black, but when we tried to call to book, after being on hold for 45 minutes, there were literally no available comp rooms for any date in August or September. They tried to sell us a room for 79 dollars. How do they expect me to go and try to earn points when they are not even giving any free rooms out, when they clearly have availability. I then called hard rock and was able to get a Friday and Saturday night comped, no problem. I probably won't mainain rock royalty there, but at least I was able to use my free rooms, free buffets, free show tickets. For that I will actually play there, Ocean Resort seems to be every bit as bad as Revel was and will probably go out of business faster the way they are operating.

im Diamond at CET.
I got the minimum 25k tc and probably wont play anymore this year.
that's good for:
-free access to food in lounges
-resort fees waived

I was hoping to maintain Ocean black because they also waive resort fees.
neither Borgata nor HARD rock waives resort fees no matter what tier level :(

and now that you've peaked my curiosity, this is how I maximize comps:
play a lot on 1 day.
ie: minimum 500 tc ($5000 coin in) at CET to get 125 tc bonus

no idea what 'ALOT' is at other casinos so I just play till im tired.

any other suggestions?
