A few observations about my own trip last week

I played at the tampa hard rock back in march and as a result was given a comped room, $100 fp and $75 comp dollars at hard rock ac. It was good from opening till summers end. The florida card was no good here as stated but clearly there is some automated linking of info

The interiors have been completely redone. The general shape of the interior isbof course the same. They did an excellent job

Only one restaurant an expensive steak house first floor rear appears untouched

Panda express is now a generic asian food outlet thats pretty similar. The burger joint is now serving burgers and pancakes (i think its called burgers n hops)

Long lines at ocean resorts vs hard rock - big difference
Both had long lines. Ocean took about 45 minutes to get signed up. Hard rock about 5 minutes. Thats because they installed signup kiosks. First time i have seen that. A rep checks your id at the entrance to a split in the line. Those doing tier match see a live person. Everyone else just goes to a machine inserts their id types the pertinent info and has their players card autoprinted. Welcome to the 21st century

Downloading fp is the same system as golden nugget ac if you are familiar with their prompts

One peeve. There seems no points system. You earn comp dollars as you go AND the only way to check how much you have is at the kiosk. No one seemed to know how much play was required to get to next card level. Some amount of comp dollars earned but thats a mystery on my end at least

IIRC Westgate had/ has players card printing kiosks(?)

Any word on if that's indoor or outdoor? Their website states outdoor, others have suggested it's actually indoor.

Also, do you know if the "Grand Opening Wild Card Tier Match" which includes complimentary nights must be redeemed before September 3 (the expiration of the offer) or do you just need to match by then?

You just need to match by then.

I did both matches between 9 and 10 on a Tuesday night. The only reason the HR match was longer was because of being put in the system wrong when I signed up online. Otherwise I would say the time was equal, with two or three people in line ahead of me, and someone at each terminal. Funny that I walked out of Hard Rock and got in line with some of the same people at Ocean.

They do comp dollars like Borgata did. Not a fan of it, but it is what it is. At Hard Rock, you need $250 in comp dollars to reach Elite and $1000 to reach Rock Royalty. Borgata had the same structure with $1000 needed to reach the "top" level, just with no advertised middle tier.

One thing I do like with Ocean is that they issue you a trip report about a week after you visit. Nice to get even mid-week comp room offers almost immediately. Still haven't booked my promo rooms yet. If you haven't heard, they stopped honoring tier match rooms for Saturdays, and rolled back Fridays yesterday.

Long lines at ocean resorts vs hard rock ... Both had long lines.

Hmmm... But, what about "long lines" at Caesars properties? For all the reasons many WoV members curse their treatment by Caesars -- plus some gripes of my own -- I generally do not patronize Caesars properties.

However, that didn't stop Caesars from sending me an email offer of its "Semi-Annual Sale" on hotel rooms, highlighting Atlantic City properties at the top of the list:
  • Bally's Atlantic City - $34
  • Caesars Atlantic City - $39
  • Harrah's Resort Atlantic City - $34

Each offer also included a (undisclosed) "food & drink credit," whatever that might amount to. In addition, the email showed "discounted" room offers for fifteen other Caesars properties, with only Harrah's Laughlin showing a lower promo price at $25. None of the non-AC offers mentioned a food & drink credit.

Seems to suggest to me that nobody wants to visit Caesars properties in Atlantic City. Can't imagine why, except maybe new competition has some good games with reasonable rules. Just maybe.

Just visited ocean.
Tier matched rock royalty to get black.

9/6 JoB is $10 for a point.
I have 100 points and 205 tier credits, so each point is 2.05tc?

There's supposed to be a 3x point multiplier till end of Sept?
Is that already factored in?

Edit:
The kiosk said I need 3000 tier credits to the next level.
I thought that's all I needed to keep black.
But Now that I think about it, it might be to reach gold since gold is 3000 tier credits.

Oh man... have to earn 75k tier credits by Sept 30 to maintain black?
At $10 coin in for 2tc for 9/6 JoB, that's $375k coin in?!? (And that probably factors in the 3x multiplier.)

So $30k coin in?

Interesting

I noted slots was $3 per point which seemed a really weird number. More likely slots are $1 per point and the multiplier was on

i edited my post. (See above)

Also, if it's $3 per point and the 3x multiplier is on, then it should be $9 per point without the multiplier.

Whoops

Yes thats correct

Which leaves me back with a weird number for slot points. $9 per point seems even more off than $3 per point (which I have seen one other place although not in AC. Never seen a casino offer $9 per point on slots)

EDIT: The weirdest I have ever seen is one casino that gives $76 per point on slots. Even the staff said they had no idea where that number came from

It is still my understanding that tier points at Ocean are based on theoretical loss.

Not including any multipliers: $1 in theo = 3 tier credits.

The slots have a real-time points reader (that is the points climb as you go without having to pull your players card out and re-insert)

Every $3 wagered earned me a point when I was there

Thats not theo

Some casinos (like total rewards) have two different points schemes. Is a tier credit different from a point at ocean resorts?
