Anyone know if the Hard Rock pool is open and whether or not it's indoor or outdoor? there seems to be some contradicting information online. And also, are children under 21 allowed? Thinking of bringing my niece and nephew.

OK. I finally read this entire thread. Just a couple comments:

1 - I'm going to AC tomorrow for the weekend. I'll have more comments afterwards.

2 - Not just here, but several podcasts and other social media outlets have talked about the long lines to get a player's card. That surprises me, particularly for Ocean. Player's cards were one of the few things Revel got right. I was at Revel the second day they were open. When you got off the escalator to heaven, there was a small army of player's club attendants with hand-held scanners and fanny packs full of blank player cards. Give them your Driver License and they scanned the bar code on the back, then swiped a player card and handed you both. I think they may have asked for some additional info like a phone number or email address. The entire transaction took about 2 minutes. OK, the card didn't have your name printed on it, but who cares? It only took 2 minutes.

3 - I really wonder if ACY would even still exist if it weren't for the FAA痴 interest in it.

4 - I wonder how much cleaning up and improving the look of AC will help. I mean, I really think that ship has sailed. The writing was on the wall YEARS ago when Foxwoods first opened. AC did nothing. NJ didn't do anything either. It was only a few years ago that they finally expanded the Garden State Parkway so that the entire trip from the state line to AC was at least 3 lanes wide. Sorry, but too little, too late.

The pool at the Hard Rock is open. It痴 located on the 3rd floor of the South Tower. Children accompanied by an adult are permitted. There are special adult swim hours (I believe the first and last hour that the pool is open.)

Haven't heard that, but that sounds fair.
That equates to a theo of around $2,800 which isn't bad.

9/6 Jacks or Better = .5% HE

$2800 in theo loss by sept to maintain Tier matched black for Ocean:
2800/.005 = $560k coin-in?!?!?!?!?!?!

so slot players should goto casinos that offer points based on theo loss (Ocean, Trop) and vp players should avoid?
Craps is paradise (Pair of dice). Lets hear it for the SpeedCount Mathletes :)

They have those people but they cant tier Match. Everyone you listen to on podcasts, or who call podcasts, or who post on Facebook are doing tier matches. You have to go to the actual desk to tier match

Any word on if that's indoor or outdoor? Their website states outdoor, others have suggested it's actually indoor.

Also, do you know if the "Grand Opening Wild Card Tier Match" which includes complimentary nights must be redeemed before September 3 (the expiration of the offer) or do you just need to match by then?

The pool at the Taj was indoor. It seems unlikely that they値l make the kind of modifications needed just to have an outdoor and therefore closed part of the year.

Actually - I haven't seen those people at all. Pit bosses couldn't do cards originally, they finally can.

A few observations about my own trip last week

I played at the tampa hard rock back in march and as a result was given a comped room, $100 fp and $75 comp dollars at hard rock ac. It was good from opening till summers end. The florida card was no good here as stated but clearly there is some automated linking of info

The interiors have been completely redone. The general shape of the interior isbof course the same. They did an excellent job

Only one restaurant an expensive steak house first floor rear appears untouched

Panda express is now a generic asian food outlet thats pretty similar. The burger joint is now serving burgers and pancakes (i think its called burgers n hops)

Long lines at ocean resorts vs hard rock - big difference
Both had long lines. Ocean took about 45 minutes to get signed up. Hard rock about 5 minutes. Thats because they installed signup kiosks. First time i have seen that. A rep checks your id at the entrance to a split in the line. Those doing tier match see a live person. Everyone else just goes to a machine inserts their id types the pertinent info and has their players card autoprinted. Welcome to the 21st century

Downloading fp is the same system as golden nugget ac if you are familiar with their prompts

One peeve. There seems no points system. You earn comp dollars as you go AND the only way to check how much you have is at the kiosk. No one seemed to know how much play was required to get to next card level. Some amount of comp dollars earned but thats a mystery on my end at least
