Because my University (Stockton) bought the property to turn into a Campus (and turn the hotel section into barracks), but (ironically) the Taj petitioned the courts to enforce the deed because they didn't want to have something that may attract underage people to the area. But, now the Taj is done, and Showboat still sits empty, so now there are even more useless giant buildings in AC....
I hate deed restrictions on principle because it leads to crazy issues like these... I am not saying a new Casino would be a good thing, but restricting it certainly is not good either....
Quote: GandlerI thought Showboat had a deed restriction that said only gambling facilities can be operated in the property?

Taj enforced a restriction from decades ago that neither taj nor showboat could open as anything but a casino. Now that taj is closed as well they wish to violate the very restriction they gorced on showboat last year. Rich people all a crock. Only believe in contracts and lawd wen it suits them

Unless something has changed very recently, Showboat currently operates as a non-casino hotel.
