So whats up with the Taj? Losing each month, whats the end game here? Why is Icahn still holding on to it, does he have some long term plans? I honestly don't get whats going on here, a few months ago I thought I did, now im lost.

Billionaire Carl Icahn is a very patient investor. He knows it takes time to buy casinos (i.e., AC Sands, Trop, & Taj) and flip them for profit. He did it with the old AC Sands. After that, from 2009 thru 2015, he takes 6 years to turn the bankrupted-Tropicana around, and he renovates Trop beautifully (See photo). He may take another 6 years to turn Taj around just like Trop.

Speaking of Taj, I get some good news to pass along to you guys. For $100 cash, a slot pro "K" will get you a Taj room on a Saturday night. "K" is legit, any taker?

Not at that price, but it is nice to see someone offering them on the market. Do you have to meet him to check in?

And does the Trop really look like that now? Wow.

To each his own. The $100 deal may not be your cup of tea. However another player did want to pay $100 for an extra room for his visiting relatives.

As to the meetup..."K" will arrange in a way that is mutually convenient for both parties.

As to Trop... Yes is the answer to your question. Trop was definitely a lot more prettier and busier than Borgata during the hours of fireworks (See photo.)

Speaking of the crime of passion in the case of Smith & Arline (See link below), I get a story to tell.

Mr. "Teve" and Mrs. "Arol" (Bj players) have regularly cheated their spouses in AC XYZ casino-hotel-room. Recently only Mr. "Teve" shows up alone playing blackjack in the casino. Mrs. "Arol" disappears.

Hmm.. could the murder of Smith & Arline scare them straight?

A gunman shot Smith & Arline 9 times inside an SUV in which the couple having sex.

Be aware of AC Thieves in casinos and on the Boardwalk ...

1) Thieves steal jackets from chairs and sell them on the Boardwalk for a fistful of dollars.

2) Thieves of 2 have distracted and stolen cellphones from high-tech charging stations and electrical sockets@casinos. They "pawn"/sell them cheaply to simpletons on the Boardwalk.

You guys are forewarned. Don't be a victim.

Thank you for all of the crime updates

You're welcome. I wish I can stop some criminals with a 6-foot-Pole Snare (see photo).

1) I regret that I can't help a chasing cop without that pole. A husky young man runs fast away from a chasing cop on Arctic Ave by the AC Library. That man/road-runner zooms by me so fast and makes a fool out of me and that cop.

2) I wish I get that damn pole when a shop-lifter grabs and runs out from a gift shop (near Bungalow Lounge & Beach Bar) on the Boardwalk.

3) I wish I get that damn pole again when another road-runner grabs and runs out from the White House/Black Market Women's Boutiques Shop@Trop.

Oh well... the grab-and-run-thieves are another fact of life in AC.

Hey today is the Friday the 13th, and NJDGE just posts the Oct reports on AC casinos' winnings (see below). Borg is still the leader of the pack. Do you guys know that Taj was the leader of the pack before Borg popped up in 2004? Now Taj came in last place behind Resorts Casino. Go figure.

If you can't read the report, you'll need to enlarge text. Press and hold down the (Ctrl) key. Then press (+) key repeatedly until you can read the report.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime

Hey Guys, shall I teach the starving entertainers/musicians how to fish in casinos? Whenever one of them asks me for cash on the Boardwalk, I almost tell him to come with me, and I'll teach you how to withdraw cash from a blackjack table. What do you guys think?

Here's a starving entertainer/musician in action.
By the way he's my favorite entertainer who has gone MIA since the stock market crash of 2008.

This is just gouging people in AC who don't know any better...

From an AP confederate: the ATM fee at the only ATM inside the Atlantic City Bus Terminal (near the Greyhound kiosks) is a whopping $7.80.

Confirmed by both finding a receipt for a $20 withdrawal (+$7.80 ATM fee) and by inserting a bank card.

If I'm paying $7.80 to withdraw money from an ATM, there better be lapdances involved.

Thank goodness for the healthy competitions which give guys a better alternative choice.

Why does a person pay $7.80 ATM fee to a 3rd-party-vendor when he can withdraw from any near by bank for much less fee?

Why does a visitor pay $25 parking fee to Caesars Casino today whey he can park for free in Taj?

Why does a visitor pay $20 to a casino for breakfast when he can have a breakfast for $3.50 @ Di Roma Pizza Shop?

In addition to the $3.50 breakfast bargain @Di Roma, I find another lunch bargain @Popeyes®: For 4 bucks, you get:
1) 2 pieces of Popeyes® fried chicken,
2) cajun fries,
3) a biscus, &
4) a cup of soda/iced tea.

For anyone that has been afraid, as I was, to upgrade their PC to Windows 10, I just did it and it was seamless. I've got a slower AMD laptop and it took around 4 hours I think. The results have been excellent.

Browsing and opening apps is faster
I had no issues with anything not working
The layout and use is way better than Windows 8 (I was still on WIndows 7 but have used Windows 8)
Windows 10 is much smaller than my previous windows It free up a lot of hard drive space.

You will lose the Windows Media player, which I guess they discontinued, but I didn't care since I used a different free app for that kind of thing.

I give it thumbs up. And it's free for Windows 7 & 8 users for it's first 12 months. If you don't upgrade during that time, then they are going to start charging for it.

ZCore13

Zcore warned that I would lose the Windows Media Player after I upgraded & installed the Windows 10.

I was afraid and postponed the upgrade until last night. Luckily I didn't lose the Windows Media Player after I upgraded to Windows 10 (See photos below... I still use the Player to play my favorite oldies while surfing the net.)

However, I did lose about 5 hours of my time even though I plugged into a high speed Ethernet hub to upgrade :-(

For the month of November 2015, Borgata won the most money from gamblers: $61,215,509. It's still the leader of the pack. Taj came in last again: $12,828,201

http://www.nj.gov/oag/ge/docs/Financials/PressRel2015/November2015PressRelease.pdf

Trop gets the potential to come close to Borgata in winnings if Mr. Icahn wants to compete against Borg. Trop fixes up its casino pretty nicely, and it gets tons of gamblers during the weekends on the casino floor and in its shopping mall "the Quarter".

Borg is the best casino to gamble, and Trop is the next best place to shop and gamble.

Long time lurker, first time poster. Hello CB3 haven't played tiles with you in a while. Guess you don't play at the Borgata? Since the Revel & Showboat closed I don't visit the boardwalk casinos anymore.

Anyway, disappointed to see this at the bottom of my recent Borgata reservation:

"Effective January 4, 2016, a $10 per night resort fee will be applied along with the $5 per night occupancy fee. The resort fee will include WiFi and access to the fitness center during your stay"

Since I use the fitness center once in a while it's probably not the worst thing in the world for myself but curious to see the reaction this will get in AC.

I really got bent over at Bally's then....

And that is for a bad room. Dennis tower is falling apart.

I need to start gambling more, I probably could have put that $380 into the slots and ended up with a free room anyway.

Caesars properties in A.C. have always added $13/night on a comped room, but I didn't realize they had a $25/night resort fee now, at Bally's Dennis Tower, no less. Ouch!

Yes, a little bit of play at Caesars will usually generate a multitude of room offers.

Yep I just booked our annual AC summer trip last week. I am getting 4 nights comped in Caesars in the ocean tower for a low low price of $154 (all fees)

All of which I should not complain about considering I only have like 250 tier points this year. But of course I will.

2 Casinos didn't have full month rate calendars on their site. I checked some random dates and here is a ballpark:

Weekday: $99
Friday: $250-280
Saturday: $350-380

Resorts
Weekday: $53
Friday: $150-$250
Saturday: $200-$350

I also checked taxes and resort fees.

Taxes end up being $22-$37.

Resort Fees Per Night
Trump - $15
Bally's - $25
Ceaser's - $25
Harrah's $20
Borgata - $0
Resorts - approx $20
Trop - $12
Golden Nugget - $10

The other night at Ceaser's, around 1 AM I sat down at a video poker machine at the Toga bar. There was only 1 other person there on the entire row of machines. The bartender came over and I ordered drinks, and he completely ignored my order and told me I can't play at the bar because I am not a Diamond or 7 Stars cardholder. Guy was a little rude but I just left because I didn't want to make a scene and the toga bar isn't that great anyway. I just found another full pay machine a few feet away and drank for free.

A short time later I got talking to a slot attendant who was super nice, and I mentioned that I got "kicked out" of the Toga bar. She said what the bartender said wasn't true and I could have played on those machines, and asked her manager on the radio who confirmed there was no restrictions based on player club status. She offered to tell the bartender I was allowed to play at the bar, so we went over and she told the bartender her manager said I was welcome to play here. The bartender still said no and said we needed to talk to his beverage manager. I just went back to my room.

Should'a called gaming.

At least in NV, that'd have been illegal. Not sure about NJ, but I'd think it'd be the same in NJ as NV.

AC Press posted an article saying Steel Pier might need a CRDA bailout to stay in business. I say let it close. It's only Steel Pier in name only. It's a joke compared to any of the Wildwood amusement piers. The Steel Pier that I went to in the sixties doesn't exist anymore. A big chunk of it was washed out at sea during a Hurricane or Northeaster. You can look at some old photos of the pier or watch some YouTube videos to see what it looked like in it's glory days. What happened to the giant ferris wheel that was supposed to save Steel Pier. The reason it can't survive now is because it only has a few lame rides and some rip off carnival games.

One tid bit of advice to Room Rate seekers. They are VERY generous to New and Inactive TR card members, to the point they need not play at a property more than once and you will get pretty decent offers.

You can even sign up for a TR card online, so you don't even need to go there and give your ID or anything.

I am a Gold card holder, and have been pretty much avoiding CET properties the last few years, but have gotten free Fridays throughout most of the year. My play at CET properties is very little and I only had one night this year of "high rolling" where I bet $100 a hand at a $25 table. Won a quick $400 and walked away after 10 mins of rated play.

I was even able to get this upcoming Saturday Jan 2. comped and will only have to pay the $27 resort fee.

So it helps to sign up for a TR card online, or have a friend get one and see what rates they get. Or as the Poster who provided their bill said, play big one night and see what they offer from there.

I got 4 weeknights for spending like $300 on 3CP and Slots combined. I'm looking for weekends though. I'm thinking about spending a bit more come January if they are generous with comps. I'd rather put that room money towards gambling where there is a possibility of winning some back.

I assume that since he basically said who he was she had no choice. There was a post by face in the suspension thread where he said he knew.

Yep. There's a difference between suspicion and proof. He was very neutral for the first month, also careful with IP matches and other signals, then several hints via reference the last couple weeks. Today he just gave it up for whatever reason.
