Quote: Deck007I know a thing about Macau since it is like my backyard. I was there 3 months ago.
There has been a sea change there in the last few months. 6 projects are under various stages of construction. Only Galaxy has committed to a May 27 2015 opening date. Melco Studio city you mentioned above has said their opening, for public consumption, was sometime in May. But their whisper number to stock analyst was March this year. Everybody couldn't built fast enough to catch the boom.
The thing about Macau is that nobody knows how many gaming tables they will get. So in the event that Studio City get very few tables they could end up with a $3 Billion investment white elephant. There is a 3% cap per year on new tables in Macau.
The other worry is revenue is dropping all over Macau. Nobody can predict how much more bad it can get. If it last another 6 months my personal prediction is that some of the construction will stop and these sites will rot away like in 2008. My believe is also there is such a thing as herd mentality among Chinese gamblers. Once a crowd head for the door everybody couldn't get out fast enough.

You are dead right. I think that is why they have not commit themselves to an opening date.
Want to see what their gaming table allotment is before deciding.
