I'm here now.

Will visit Casino Buenos Aires and Hipodromo de Palermo.
Is Casino Trilenium worth a visit? it's ~30miles north of me.

This site says there's supposed to be the Princess and Star riverboat casinos but google has failed me.
https://soundsandcolours.com/subjects/travel/visiting-the-best-casinos-in-buenos-aires-68868/

Any help?

If you’re referring to the casino in Tigre, it’s not worth a separate trip just to visit that casino. The table game floor almost feels like an abandoned warehouse. Ditto for the casino in Mar del Plata. The train ride up to Tigre is kind of fun though

The riverboat casino near Puerto Madero is the best Argentina has to offer, which isn’t saying much. Doesn’t seem to have much of a gambling culture, which could be said about many Latin countries

I haven’t been to these places in five years but I doubt they’ve changed much

To my knowledge, the Hippodrome offers horse betting only

Incidentally, Argentines are some of the worst blackjack players I’ve ever seen. They generally stand on every hand higher than 11, almost never doubling/splitting

Hippodrome website says they have slots:
https://www.palermo.com.ar/es/tragamonedas

no on Tigre train.
read that train station and area around it is haven for cell phone stealers/snatchers and pickpockets.

Suggestions….

Cross Avenida 9 de Julio at its widest. I believe it is 14 lanes of traffic.

If you have some extra $$ and time take side trip to Iguazu falls. If you have even more extra $$$ stay in the one hotel in the park itself. You can get to the falls before any of the ‘regular’ tourists are there.
If you have more time, go to the Brazilian side as well.
You won’t regret it.

Why??

I've crossed it at other points.

Casino Buenos Aires

No need to show id (ie: passport) to get in.

It's huge...4 floors.
There are games to the left AND right of the escalator. So after you finish checking out 1 side, double back to check out the other.
There's also poker in one section. I assume No Limit but don't know what stakes. (equivalent of 1/2 NL?)
Did not see any vp.

Lots of Must hits but very few other playable games.
Table games: Single 0 roulette, baccarat, 3:2 BJ, Craps (Field 2 and 12 pay double.. yuck)

Got excited over finding a Must Hit similar to this at $48 but...

You're betting in pesos.
$1 = 190 pesos.
betting 25 pesos = 13cents/spin

Winning 50 pesos from the Must hit is only 26 cents.
I hit the Mini before 49 betting 25pesos/spin and lost $ because Your bet size is so large compared to the progressive.

I decided to play a bigger Must hit:

2500 pesos = $13
max bet 20cents @ 30lines = 600 pesos/spin
Lost almost 10k pesos because the bonus rounds sucked and it went to 2499. :(

There's a 3% tax when cashing in your voucher (and i assume chips):

I did make a small profit on a couple of other games but overall Lost thousands of pesos.
I was popping in 1000 bills (most common currency) often... too often.

Betting 600 pesos/spin felt like $6/spin.
I only lost $55 total but Felt like i lost over a thousand US dollars because of how often i was putting in 1000 bills.

In my mind, it was like popping in $100 US bills.
Good rush of betting big on the cheap

$1 = 380 pesos. That’s the blue dollar (free market) rate

190 is the “official” (ie bullsh*t) central bank rate. If you’re actually changing money at that rate, you’re taking a 50% haircut before you even enter a casino.

Bring USD to Argentina and change at the blue rate. Don’t use cards or banks as they use the “official” rate…aka the rate they use to steal half of your money

I barely remember my middle name! My suggestion was more a concept of seeing a 14 lane street with a bunch of medians…
I love walking through most cities I visit.

For some reason my Uber doesnt work here so didn't goto Hipodromo de Palermo.

But the Red hop on/off bus stops right in front of there.
It's stop #18 (Polo/horse racing).
The casino is inside the horse racing complex.

Also, the Red hop on/off passes right in front of Casino Buenos Aires.
Maybe you can ask the bus driver to stop there?
Stop 7 is the closest after the casino.
and i think stop #4 is the closest one before the casino? (Ask the bus driver which stop is better to get off at.)

I don't know about the Yellow hop on/off, which is a competitor to the Red hop on/off.

Going by memory, Uber does not operate in Argentina. No surprise

But regular taxis, which are everywhere in BA, have always been very cheap. A ride from microcenter to hippodrome is probably like five bucks (2000 pesos)

Also, if you’re concerned about “pickpockets and phone snatchers”, the last place you want to be is on the bus

Ushuaia, Argentina
- Southern most city in the world (vs Southern most town/village)

Google says there are 2 casinos here.
I found one of them.

Just Must-Hits. Nothing else playable. No table games.
And as before, your bet size is pretty big relative to the Must Hit.
Plus even if you hit, the prize is small in USD
ie: 2500 peso Minor = $6 USD

The other is inside a military base according to google?

Just Must Hits. Nothing else playable.
Table games on 2nd floor but wasn't open yet because I was there early afternoon.

There's another casino nearby but recent Reviews say the games are OLD so i didn't bother.
