Carnival recently made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. As a result, I am going on a cruise that stops in Nassau for a day. I was considering going to one of the casinos there, and was wondering which would be better: Atlantis or Baja Mar. I'm looking for good 25c - $1 VP, and low limit Craps and possibly UTH. The poll question is: which joint would be best suited for my needs?
I have been to Altantis recently, but didn't gamble much. I don't think I have ever been to Baja Mar. I do recall going to a casino on Cable Beach, but this was 15 years ago, and I don't remember much about it other than fleecing tourists at the $1-$2 Hold'em table! ;)
Has anyone been to either of these places recently? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Baha Mar is the new casino built to compete with Atlantis. I doubt you will find good VP at low denoms at either property.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.

Ya, maybe 'good' is a stretch. I was thinking more like Strip paytables 'good' -- I know I wont find anything like FPDW. I'm just hoping for better than what I know I will find on the boat, which shouldn't be hard.

I'm going to give this topic a bump to see if anyone has been to either of these casinos in Nassau.
For my 'bump fee,' I'll relate another thing I remember about my trip to Cable Beach 15 years ago. I recently googled it, and am convinced that the casino I visited was the Crystal Palace, and that Baha (Sorry for the misspelling in the title) Mar was built to replace it.
We had taken a taxi from the cruise port to the casino. There were four of us, and I was going to offer to pay for the cab ride, so I took out my wallet as we neared the end of our ride. However, my Dad ended up paying for the cab, and I put my wallet back in my pocket. (Or so I thought!) When I got out of the taxi at the casino's valet area, I felt that my wallet was missing -- it either slipped out, or I never put it away securely -- but the cab had already sped off!
I tell the valet this. So, he jumps in the next car that was to be parked and tears of after the taxi. A few minutes later, the valet returns with my wallet! Needless to say, he got a big tip! No idea if the owner of the car ever knew that his car was used for a brief high-speed pursuit instead of being parked!

atlantis 2016
slots were $10.50 coin-in = 1 point
vp: $25 coin-in = 1 point
best vp was 8/6 JoB.
I think there was quarter 3/5/10 play Ultimate X 8/5 DDB,
new player promo:
50pts = $25 cashback, 100pts = $50, 300pts = $75, 500 pts = $100
needless to say, I only played till 100 points
Baja Mar was still under construction in 2016

I stopped by Alantis for a few hours a couple months ago on a cruise. I played a slot for a couple hours. When I was leaving I went to the desk to ask what my comp balance was. She said they don’t have comps. I said I never heard of a casino not having comps. She said they apply it to your bill at checkout. I said I’m just here for a few hours on a cruise. She said then they would just give me a restaurant comp. I just gave up at that point.
I have since gotten some offers for free room and food credit. I don’t think you’re going to get much freeplay out of them nor comps for shopping. I think it’s just a good place to go if you want a cheap vacation. I looked at the video poker briefly and didn’t see anything real good. So unless you like playing video poker for fun, this probably isn’t the place for you.

Thanks for your input 100x & Sandy. Yeah, I'm coming on a cruise, too, and not planning on playing enough for serious comps anyway. I wasn't even planning on getting a card unless there was some significant new player bonus involved.
I think we're leaning towards trying out Baha Mar instead of Atlantis for this trip. It's newer, and hopefully a little lower-key than Atlantis. Last time I visited Atlantis (also on a cruise), they wouldn't let us walk around and see the property. Unless we paid $50 or whatever for a day-pass, we were pretty much restricted to the casino and shops in the lobby.

(Didn't want to start a new thread.)
Was recently at Atlantis.
They have $1 single line 9/7 db video poker (99.1%).
Bp is 7/5 and JoB is 9/5.
'Ultimate X Bonus streak' 5cent 3play Deuces Wild Bonus is highest pay.
98.4% with the Bonus Streak gimmick
