going to Quebec, canada via cruise ship.
3 day stopover before heading back to ny on cruise ship.

NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND, US
BOSTON, MA
BAR HARBOR, MAINE, US
SAINT JOHN, BAY OF FUNDY, CANADA
HALIFAX, CANADA
SYDNEY, NOVA SCOTIA, CANADA
CHARLOTTETOWN, PRINCE EDWARD I, CANADA
LA BAIE (SAGUENAY RIVER), CANADA
SHIP ARRIVES AND OVERNIGHTS IN QUEBEC CITY, CANADA

I found the casino in Halifax.
it was within walking distance of the cruise port!
which made me think about other land casinos on my trip.

any info on casinos in any of the other ports, especially Quebec?
is it feasible to rent a car and drive to Montreal? (since I'm docked for 3 days)

oh.. i have no phone service. (i was told i have it in Canada but doesn't work.)
so only public wifi (ie: Starbucks)

thx

Both of your Nova Scotia ports have casinos, Red Shores casino is in Charlottetown. Montreal is only 3 hours by car, it depends if 6 hours of driving is worth it to you, I know I’ve done a lot worse lol.

I really dislike Casino Montreal. My wife and I went when my son first went to McGill University four years ago. We found it hard to get to, hard to park (it's all underground parking underneath the casino and hard to navigate), and the casino itself is very cramped and oddly laid out. Hardly any video poker and terrible odds. The blackjack minimums were $25/hand and the rules were OK back then, but getting onto a table was impossible. The craps was $10 minimum with x3-4-5 odds and they only had one table so it was hard to get onto as well.

After that one visit, we never bothered going back to Casino Montreal whenever we visited him.

Might come down to definitions. CasinoCity.com reports that Salon de Jeux de Québec (located at 550 boulevard Wilfrid-Hamel, Québec City) has electronic roulette, blackjack, and poker plus three tables of "Table and Poker Games." I think that phrase in quotes just might be a redundant reference to the electronic games.

In some casinos, I have played electronic blackjack that used chips while at other casinos there was just an electronic record of your balance. I have no idea which is the case in Quebec, since I have never been to that casino, and their web site is not completely clear on this.

I have collected chips from 4 casinos in the Province of Quebec, but none from Quebec City. The ones I have been to are Casino de Charlevoix (137 km NE of Quebec City, on the river near La Malbaie), Casino de Mont-Tremblant (151 km NW of Montreal), Casino de Montreal, and Casino du Lac-Leamy (6.7 km from Ottawa).

8:30am to 3:00am ??
Small bands, small bar, some promotions.
Its apparently in a very poor area. Minority party wants to move it to the port area and concentrate on wealthier tourists.
Seems to be under the jurisdiction of the Quebec Lottery.
Has a facebook page.... mostly in French.
335 video lottery terminals
18.2 percent profit margin.

Its not a "casino" as we would call it, more a store front video gaming parlor
Good luck.

Salon jeux is 3 miles from the cruise port.
Slots only.

Wonder if the machines display the house edge/return, like they do in Europe?

Uber is $11-$15cad (about $8-$12 USD?)

Actually the nearest casino to Quebec City is Charlevoix which is located in a picturesque town (La Malbaie) a couple hours north. There is access via bus (Greyhound I think) or you can rent a car. They actually have some very good blackjack, six decks, 25-1000, S17, DAS, DA2, no surrender, good penetration (athough not when I am in town). They also have eight deck games which are H17.

Yes, I mentioned Casino de Charlevoix in my earlier response to the request by 100xOdds, including its distance from Quebec City, though I did not present info about the games they offer. I played $15-min blackjack on my only visit there back in 2015, but I didn't make note of the rules. (I really prefer craps.)

salon de jeux is in a shopping mall.
if your walking app cant find it, just search for walmart.
the casino is on the same(?) block as a walmart.

i still havent gone.
forgot to bring phone with real phone # (not voip) so that i can use Uber. (uber doesnt work with my Google Voice #, and no Lyft in Quebec.)
