He gave me the askance look. "Yeah right" he says. He plays craps over at the Silverton.
Those who are out there can hopefully find spots for those who are looking for work from that place.

I would vote for, "Delta House"

Hehe, I think the designers at Caesars would get upset.

There's nothing wrong with that.

"Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon Will Temporarily Close
Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon will temporarily close on Feb. 4, 2013 to accommodate
a major renovation that will convert the property to a boutique lifestyle hotel and casino.
Final room reservations can now be made through Sunday, Feb. 3, 2013.
The renovated hotel and casino is expected to open in early 2014, under a new name,
and will include the addition of a rooftop pool as well as a dayclub/nightclub managed by Drai Management Group.
The conversion also includes the complete remodeling of the guest rooms,
casino floor and common areas, the addition of a new second floor restaurant,
and construction of the 65,000 square foot rooftop pool and dayclub/nightclub.
From all of us at Bill's Gamblin' Hall & Saloon,
we would like to thank you for your patronage and we look forward to you joining us during our final days.
It is our pleasure to serve you and we look forward to your visit when we return to the Las Vegas Strip with a fully re-imagined hotel experience."
Will miss Bills.
Later as I learned more I still went back there because of a great double deck pitch game. I haven't played much there at all since CET took over. Regardless I have great memories of the crappy tap beer they use to pour and the sweaty BJ they offered. This was one place that I sometimes would kick back and have some fun and not take AP too seriously when with friends since the stakes were so low. And then then there is Drais and the women who would line up to go downstairs, too much fun!
In a weird way I'll miss that place!

So? Downtown has better gambling than the Strip, especially for low-rollers. $3 and $5 craps with 5X is common, and the VP is much better.
The really big question is where they'll relocate the discount ticket place that was Bill's main draw?

This article was in the USA Today and confirms earlier reports about the future of Bill's .
It sounds like there might be a Casino on the property too!
Quote: mwalz9I could stay at the Flamingo for instance. Walk right out the door and into Bill's and gamble for hours with $200 tops, then walk right outside with the wife and see the Bellagio Fountains.
It was right there? God, I must've been more drunk than I thought. Never even seen it lol
I do wonder about the viability of trying to make it such an expensive hotel. It is still right in the middle of the cheap section of the strip.

And as I pointed out in this thread, why would anyone pay $250/night to stay at SLS (the old Sahara) when they could pay $250 to stay at Gansevoort? Both of these hotels will be outrageously overpriced, but at least the Gansevoort has the best location in Las Vegas: across the street from Bellagio and Caesars. The SLS will be across the street from the beautiful Circus Circus and the luxurious Riviera.
I think it's New Yawker for Meat Packing District.Quote: megapixelsIs Gansevoort German for vinegar & water?
For what it's worth, I snapped this picture on the day before Bill's closed its door forever:
I choose - Avgvstvs -
But going by recent history, they will probably name it - The Tetra -
Quote: s2dbakerThe Ganesvoort is no more. Caesars will continue the project without them. Now we can guess at what the new joint will be named.

Hmm, how about just bring Bills Gamblin Hall back as newer and better.
Bills was always one of my favorites on the Strip.
I loved sitting at the bar having a drink, playing video poker and listening to the Fat Elvis act.
I'm a low roller so Bills got almost all my poker action. Loved the no limit holdem 50 cent 1 buck cash game. The tables there were always fun since not a lot at stake at the poker table. Stayed there also, great spot in the middle of the strip. I miss Bills, besides downtown, they were the only other casino in Vegas that got a lot of my gambling business.
