The Blackjack Kid

The 5 year old decided to 'borrow' my phone to play a (non-cash) blackjack game.

Quote: Her summary

They are only trying to get your ID and your money.
Nobody should play this game.
Tell everybody in the world.
Tell your ex-girlfriends.

Now she only played for about ten minutes, and her play was hampered by a tendency to pile all her chips on the spot every round, but she did get the basics of hit to 17 and stand against a weak dealer upcard.
She did think that the rainbow $1M chips were pretty cool, and appreciated getting dealt blackjacks.

Pinball Frustration

Between balls going off the playfield and sticky flippers, it's really starting to annoy.

Still, I suppose I did play about 14 games off my initial 5 credits, so enjoyable. Hopefully the route operator comes around and fixes the table a bit before my next trip through.

Sometimes you can ask the proprietor who the route operator is, then contact that operator know about the issues. If they care about people putting money into their machines, they'll come out and fix it. Especially if they like playing their own games!

…then contact that operator and let them know about the issues.

There is a label with the name and contact information for the route service.

Unfortunately, it's a low traffic location.

The only real "repairs" I've seen in the last 4 years are a piece of blue masking tape being added over the slot on the left coin mechanism, because it has been jamming for at least that long.

They actually made repairs!

The drop target which had been snapped off a long time ago was working, the out of bounds balls had been returned, and the blue masking tape was off the coin slot.

I did manage to get one ball stuck someplace, so the irksome "1 BALL MISSING" and partial self test happened with every credit, but it's back to being more fun.

19 games off 15 purchased credits.

Great to hear! And great to hear you're putting in money to reward their work! I feel for the repair folks — they have to make some choices on how they're going to spend their repair time.

Variance at the change machine

At a stop along my journey, I decided to play a little casual pinball. I usually play a bit when I'm in the neighborhood, so nothing bad there.

Realized I had not enough coins to play, so I hit up the change machine. $2 in, $2.25 out. Cha-ching! Good variance! 10/10, will play again!

They finally replaced the busted old pinball table they had with a newer, less busted pinball table. Unfortunately, while the entire playfield works on the newer one, the coin mechanism does NOT. $2.50 in, but it only bought me two 50 cent games. (Something internally wrong. Had to push the return button in before dropping a coin to get it to tally the half credit.) I guess I understand how they can run a change machine with a bonus round.

Nothing exciting on the game. Stern Monopoly has never been to my taste, but it was fun actually getting all the flippers to wiggle.

Overlay!

Much better playfield state!
Still -EV. Check the front lip; it looks like it needs $12 added before anything will drop.

20 coins in. 6 coins out.

Starducks!

Stopped at a convenient casino the other night with one of the ducks.
Grabbed a 'pick me upper' before I started playing.

Played a slot machine. Up a little, down a little. Ended up with nothing to cash out - $0 balance on the credit meter after my last spin, no wager saver!

Checked out the baccarat table for kicks. Absolutely nothing interesting going on, just a standard mini-bacc table in an alcove off to the side. The space looked too empty, like there used to be more in there, but they recently changed things around. No buy-in, no play; didn't want to disturb the player who was clearly very deep in concentration.

They were in the process of installing what appeared to be two banks of SG Fusion systems on the main floor. Mostly appeared that two or three managers were standing around observing, while the tech was off looking for a baggie of hardware that got misplaced.

Fun trip, but I don't think that property is my kind of place.
