Looking to Hustle Comps

I love playing poker and other games of chance as long as I feel I'm getting the best of it. I hope that joining this forum will allow me to learn the best ways I can profit from casino comps and maybe find new angles for gaining advantages at the tables.

I don't play poker and I don't know what comps they get. But comps have essentially dried up since interest rates went from something to nothing years ago. Interest rates have since rebounded, but comps haven't. Las Vegas is playing for the whales to come in and everybody else who won't go big can stay home. Of course whales get large comps, but they spend big, so it will at least cover the room rate and dinners. It used to be play for 4 hours and get one free bet in comp points; so with a $25 minimum bet played on the Black Jack table for 4 hours would net you $25 worth of Rewards points, and that could pay for dinner now instead of a room since room rates went sky high.

Max Rubin wrote a book called Comp City many years ago. When I read it around 2001, few if any of the plays he described were still available, but I learned a lot from it by learning to think like a comp hustler. I'd start there. Jean Scott's Frugal Gambling series is also a bit dated, but it can open your eyes to unforeseen possibilities.
