Difference in Basic Strategy

I'm thrilled to find your site. I have several questions but I'll start with this one: I'm curious why blackjack basic strategy charts identify themselves as H17 (dealer hits soft 17) of S17 (dealer stays on soft 17). I know that it's to the player's advantage if the dealer stays on soft 17. But what I don't get - or I'm missing - is that there seems to be no difference in the basic strategy. Help me clarify! Is that correct?

That is NOT correct. Post something in the forum under blackjack and we can get into specifics.

There ARE differences, but they are minor. There are also minor difference depending on the number of decks used.

You'll get better answers if you post your questions in the forums rather than in the blog.
