To be clear, this is the only INTERNATIONAL Palindromic Day of our lives. There have been several Palindromic Days since 2000, but this is the only one that fits for DD-MM-YYYY, MM-DD-YYYY, and YYYY-MM-DD.

This is super cool! I hope they don't celebrate at the Super Bowl by scoring a safety. There will be a number of WoV members celebrating today, but for another reason.

I am open to ideas on how to celebrate.

Somebody should have done a prop bet on whether the Super Bowl score would ever be a palindrome, like 34-43.

The chance is greater than 4% and less than 5% for the game to end in a "palindrome score"### .

###: I counted true palindromes and also "one-way*** palindromes" in this figure

***: An example of this would be a score was 37-3 (since 3-37 would not count, i just halved the figures from "pro-football" site below, to get an estimate).

https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/game-scores.htm

Lastly, I am not going to go through each individual game, but I thought some people may find this interesting enough.

Exactly - the next one in "local" format is 12/02/2021, which is December 21 in some places and 12 February in others.

31-13 is a very popular score and every time that I see it the first thing I think of is palindrome.

I assume you mean the final score - otherwise, every "yes" bettor would claim that the score was 0-0 at the start of the game, and you didn't limit palindromes to each team having two digits.

Today is “special” because it works in both types of formats: MM/DD/YYYY and DD/MM/YYYY.

It might or might not make you happy to know I defended you on that bet to a coworker a couple years back. I told him the payout and he said, "your 'friend' has no clue what he is doing. You bet $100 and win $10? What is with that?'" I told him it was not some bar friend but a top guy in the industry, not mentioning your name or site. You were just a mystery person.

Same guy would bet on anything. Won $100 on a lottery scratch off. I will give you two guesses as to what he did with the winnings but you will only need one.

Thank you for defending me. I won't even bother to explain why I'm right.

Yes, of course he blew the $100 on more lottery tickets. Just goes to show some call it a tax on the stupid.

If you take e^02 + e^02 + PI + 2, it’s pretty close to 20. Spooky.

19.9197 ? Okay. A bit low on the spooky meter, IMO.

2.02*PI^2.002 is closer to 20 and involves two short palindromes.

You’ve missed an important adjustment.

Add sin (2.020) / 2.020 and you’ll be much closer to 20. In degrees.

I now get 19.93715. I'm still not very spooked out.
