I get the last frame where sq rt of 9 = 3. But is there some math meaning in the previous frames?

I have no idea what the previous frames mean either, but here's the comic:

BC is like that. Here is more obscure stuff about BC. The busses in Binghamton, NY (at least used to) have BC on his "wheel" on the side of them. "BC" has also been code for "Broome County" where Binghamton sits. And the local golf course has a "BC Open" that is small but attracts more than its share of palyers who want the trophy which is BC hitting a golf ball.

The strip recently mentioned Binghamton but I wondered why, maybe the tournament was starting?

I moved from the Binghamton area in 1997, but the BC Open was a PGA Tour stop for a number of years. It was a tier two stop. We would get a couple of the top ten players, but not a field full of them. Tiger played there his first year on tour. The player's caddies always wanted to go to the BC Open, as they ran a caddy tournament the Monday after the event. Some of the players used to caddy for their caddy that day. It was a fun time.
I think the PGA Tour stop ended a few years ago. Now the Champions Tour plays there in late June, and the event is called the "Dick's Open". Dick's Sporting Goods is a large chain of sporting goods stores that are all around the east coast now, but started as a single, fairly small store on the east side of Binghamton.
