My local casino has just started doing a side bet called Bonus Pairs instead of Perfect Pairs. The payout is the same as pay table B for 6 decks on WOO Pefrect Pairs except you get an additional 5/1 when the dealer has the same value card (regerdless of suit) ie: player has 7h 7d and dealer has 7c the payout is 15/1 instead of 10/1.

Does anybody know what the expected returns on this side bet would be?

See http://www.ukcasinotablegames.info/blackjackbonuspairs.html .
This bet has been appearing across Grosvenor - I don't know the full story but heard a rumour it is because they invented it (rather than Perfect Pairs) so (a) they don't have to pay any royalties but (b) because it's a lower House Edge.

Personally I'm beginning to think that any sidebet based on a small number of cards (typically the player's two or the combined three) is getting difficult to "patent" since essentially it is a list of outcomes with their payouts. Suits, ranks, totals, poker hands etc. seem a logical extension of common sense as the idea of paying out sidebets is now in the public domain.
