Hi. Learning loads from the Atkins Diet deconstruction example but having a problem understanding the line pay combinations.

(See the section called Line Pay Math in)

Specifically I don't quite understand why there are only 28 line pay combinations when you get four Atkins symbols in a row rather than 31 combinations.

For example if reels 1, 2, 3 and 4 were showing the Atkins symbol then reel 5 has 31 positions which will payout for this combination (calculated as 32 minus 1 in order to remove the fifth Atkins symbol)

I'm new to this and learning. Any help is very much appreciated guys just be gentle if I am missing something obvious!
