the Y-axis is of length e
Is the hypotenuse also transcendental?

I don't think the answer to that question is known. It is not know if π + e is transcendental or not, or if π * e is transcendental . It is known that at least one is transcendental (but both may be).
A function of two different transcendental numbers may or may not be transcendental.
