Hi,

In a Stud8 game I'm curious to know the odd's of having A2345 suited and to wind up not only losing the high half of the pot to a higher straight flush, but to also only wind up with a quarter of the low pot, with three other opponents also hitting the wheel (suited or not).
I would also be interested (although not as much) to know the odds of the other three also having A2345 suited and again losing the high half to a higher straight flush.
This question was born out of me trying to think of roughly the best hand one could have and the worst result that could come from it (discounting the amount wagered). Obviously you could have 45678 and the same scenario, this is why I say roughly, it's more about how locked up you think you have a pot and the resulting shock of the result. (although to be fair you would be able to see something happening here on at least 6th street to indicate that it isn't going to go exactly as you though).
Can you or anyone else think of a more sickening result in any poker variant?

Cheers,

Chris
