After about 18 months of less than successful endeavors in finding employment outside of the gaming industry, I am getting back in. One of the benefits extended to FT employees is tuition reimbursement, with a specific program at UNLV being mentioned. I was told it wasn't a degree program, but a series of classes that boost ones knowledge of the industry. I know the Wiz used to teach a casino math class at UNLV...but I was wondering if anyone here has happened to take the program and if its a good investment of my time.

Look into the MGM Management Associate Program. You start as an Assistant Manager in whichever group you are assigned to. I believe you start by spending the first twelve months in three different departments for four months each. You then choose or are assigned the department where you work for the next year.

I know one person that went through this program and was Sr VP and CFO of the company.
At my age, a "Life In Prison" sentence is not much of a deterrent.
