I have to believe there's a good place to buy cigars somewhere in Vegas, I'll be staying in the Tuscany so somewhere close on the strip would be nice. I'm not necessarily looking for a cigar bar/lounge, but a place that I can pickup a cigar to smoke for an hour or two while gaming. Also, I'm not checking baggage so I can't bring my torch lighter or guillotine - with any given shop on the strip would it be proper for me to ask them to cut/light for me? I expect that out of a bar/lounge.

Etiquette: With table games (BJ/3 Card Poker) I assume there's no problem as long as I have my ash tray and preferably sit at 1st/3rd base with my cigar in the hand away from the table. I enjoy playing craps a lot, in fact that's where I would probably spend most of my time. It seems to me that smoking a cigar would be kind of annoying and disrespectful.

I'd just like some feedback on both where to find a good cigar shop/lounge as well as the etiquette while gaming. Thank you!

Actually I should have googled first then asked. Casa Fuente seems like a very good choice... any experience with this place? My etiquette question stands please~

I've never purchased a cigar in my life, but I've noticed the big casinos have entire shops devoted to cigars. The smaller casinos like the Tuscany likely have at least a humidor in the gift shop. Regarding the quality they sell, I have no idea.

As a non-smoker, I can't stand it when someone sits down at my table and lights up a cigar. However, if he was there first, I don't have any right to get mad. Sitting at first or third base is not enough, the cigar will be annoying to every non-smoker within 10 feet of it.

However, smokers are allowed to smoke, and I have to respect that. We non-smokers appreciate it when smokers take some effort to minimize the annoyance. In the case of a cigar, I think you should find an empty table to stake out as your own, or one where everybody at the table is a confirmed smoker. Then plant your flag by lighting it immediately or putting the cigar in an ash tray in front of you. I will feel sorry the dealer, but that is a job hazard he/she has to accept.

I smoke. Hell, I joke than in my car smoking is not only permitted, it is required ;) But I don't like cigars, either to smoke or to be around. Not even a "fine" Cuban cigar. I do like the small, cigar-like things which are flavored of maple or other things, though. Pipes are ok.

The fact that you realize you should try and not be annoying and disrespectful shows you won't have any problem recognizing what is good etiquette and what it not. As a cigar smoker when I'm in Vegas, I agree with the Wizard that sitting at first or third base isn't enough by itself to negate the impact on the players surrounding you. I found that it's easier to keep the smoke from disturbing other players. Unless you are at a jam packed table, you can step back from the table or adjust your position relative to other players, and also set your ashtray (and cigar, if needed) on the ledge under the table for drinks. I realize you don't want to stray far from the table so that you can still protect your chips, but if your favorite spot at the craps table isn't by one of the dealers, you should have enough wiggle room to smoke freely without even really worrying about other players being offended.

I bought a cigar at the chain store Davidoff kiosk at Mandalay Bay. Great selection but ridiculous upselling by pushy staff there. I found the markup nothing short of astounding.

After spending a ridiculous amount on a cigar, i was scolded for smoking it by a blackjack player across the table. Coincidentially i was losing very badly at the time, and all in all it was quite an offputting experience. Next time i will find a lounge to smoke in.
