Hello, I am currently on vacation in the Philippines and have been going to the local casino here. I have been playing pai-gow poker, baccarat, and blackjack mostly. I have some specific questions about pai-gow poker here.
First, the house way is set differently..They consider pairs from A through J: high pairs, 10 through 7: medium pairs, and 6 through 2: low pairs. House way is to always split if the bigger pair is A through J, split if the higher pair is 10 through 7 unless with an A, and split if the higher pair is a 6 or less without an A or K.
How does this affect the Wizards Optimal 2 pair strategy? and what changes can be made to gain a player advantage when dealing with 2 pairs?
The jackpot is also set different..there is an option to place roughly a $1 bet on the jackpot:
Royal Flush or 5 A's with a Pair: 100% about $25,000
Straight Flush with a Pair: $1500
Four of a Kind with a Pair: $500
Full House with a Pair: $250
Royal Flush or 5 A's with mixed cards: $150
What is the house edge on the $1 bet and the probability/return on the jackpot?
Thank you
