It seems there is a certain amount of paranoia at WOV surrounding trolls, to the extent that non-trolling is classed as trolling. WOV upholds the view that the casino house advantage always wins, except for gamblers using advantage play (AP).
For the savvy gambler not using AP, he can still win in the short term because the advantage the house has is relatively light - for many games it's less than 6%. But what if the gambler is taking advantage of not just one kind of AP, but several? Some that come to mind are:
1. edge sorting (whatever this is?!),
2. hole carding (ditto),
3. comping,
4. bending the rules to lower the house edge for high rollers,
5. numerous other possible helps.
Here, it should be obvious I'm not well versed in many types of AP. But that's beside the point I intend to make. The point is that the savvy gambler can combine numerous types of AP that may bring down the house edge to a very fine margin. I'm not trying to suggest I am a savvy gambler and that I know all there is to know about AP. I clearly don't. I have to make this point because there seem many here that miss that point.
Now that I've made that clear (that this isn't about me or my skills), would it be beyond the realms of possibility for a rare savvy gambler to tip the odds in his favour (note: British English coz I'm Australian)?
The next point follows. If a gambler is just posting his factual experiences, which have him mostly winning on a constant basis, is this trolling? According to this website, if a poster is saying that he can beat the casinos legitimately, he is trolling, correct? But if a poster is saying he is beating the casinos, and using AP, how can this be trolling? Is paranoia (about trolls) over-ruling the discussion/argument?
All persons reading my posts gamble at their own risk, as I do. I don't ordinarily dispute math. I may dispute math I don't understand, or if I think it's faulty. I am not a conspiracy theorist.

Did we really need another thread for Moderation-related stuff?

Where's that BCMarshall with his good Blackjack questions when we need him?

Maybe not, 146. I'm happy for this thread to be moved to the "Moderation in Moderation" thread, unless mods think this discussion is important enough to be stand-alone.

    Summary of initial useless post.

Can people win using AP techniques? Answer. Yes.

I am trying to save the rest of the forum the agony of reading the entire post.

Edit. The initial post is a perfect example of trolling.

If that’s true, (and I’m not suggesting it isn’t), I haven’t got a clue what trolling is, and I’m glad I’m not a moderator.

But to the original question, I gotta think that any AP would attempt to use whatever methods they could. And yeah, combining them does add to the advantage (or reduce the edge more).

Is paranoia about paranoia trolling? We do not need yet another thread on this topic. New threads should be for new topics. This thread is closed with a warning to wellbush to not start new threads on old topics.
