OK Folks,
I'm looking for some long shots next week in Las Vegas. I've already got one area. I'm a NY Jets football fan so I'll put down $20 on the Jets to win the Super Bowl, and, if available, $20 on the Jets to win the AFC championship game. I believe the initial lines came out at 100 to 1 for the Jets to win the Super Bowl. That's one spot for a long shot, but I'd better get my bets down before Kirk Cousins signs with the Jets. 8-)
I'm looking for other spots. When the Lion's Share was still around my wife and I would each put in $21 for seven spins and let any winnings ride.
The parameters for a long shot would be say $3-5 for a chance to win $1 million or more. The Wizard of Vegas jackpot trackers have Megabucks and Wheel of Fortune that would qualify. Anything else I should look at?

I've got Dayton...no wait that was 2015.
Buffet isn't offering that $1,000,000,000 prize for a perfect bracket anymore. I think it's only employees of the company and subsidiaries that can participate now and you only have to get the Sweet 16 right.

Isn’t everything potentially a long shot?
If you ever wanted to turn $5 into a million, your best chance is to go to bacc and bet the banker starting with $5 and parlay the win every time. On the 18th win in a row, you would have over $1.2M from your $5 bet.
The problem though is at the 10th win, you would have $10,240 and you would probably start to chicken out and hedge your bet. If you didn’t, you’d probably chicken out when the win hit six figures.
Your chances of winning $1M doing this would be much better than the powerball.

Where does he find a baccarat table with a half million limit for that last bet? The biggest Max on the survey (kinda old) is $20k.
He needs long odds.

You have to talk to the floor, who will clear it with his superior. Higher limits are very possible
And doubling up 18 times in a row is long odds.
He says he wants to bet 3-5$ to win 1M$. There’s no such bet except for some rare horse racing bets, the lottery, and some of the slot progressives.
Even the Browns winning SB 53 is only 125-1. That’s not $1M for $5.

I was looking at Powerball and I think the jackpot size are making the odds longer than they need to be. Maybe a single state lottery would be a better option than Powerball.
What if he could throw boxcars 4x in a row parlaying the winnings. That would get him $4M if he starts with $5 right?

I figure the kind of person that a casino would allow to make a $500k bet at baccarat is a whale who's already a billionaire and doesn't need a million dollars.

Thanks folks. Interesting discussion.
I just posted my trip report and my wife and I did the Wheel of Fortune slot for $1 at 5 lines with 7 spins each. We didn't win $1+ million, but we did get a small surprise. Check the Trip Report for details. 8-)
I think I might try the double-up suggestion next year on something like blackjack, baccarat, or roulette. Blackjack is trickier because of splits/doubles so I'll have to work out a system to try.
