In pontoon basic strategy, you hit 6-8 against a dealer 4 for bonus reasons. Do you also hit 7-7 unsuited against a 4. It makes sense to unless i am missing something obvious? Also for this ': = Hit if suited 6-7-8 or 7-7-7 possible' is that referring to a suited 7-7-7?

Not sure about pontoon, but in Spanish 21, which is similar, that is a split play. It really isn't even close, I don't think. So yeah, split. Even suited sevens.
Really, the only time you want to hit sevens (besides against high dealer upcard) is when they are suited and the dealer has a seven up, so you can get the super bonus.
