Greetings!

This is going to be the Interview thread for IBeatYourAces, the recent thread in which Tringlomane was interviewed proved interesting and received a strong number of views, so we have decided to continue in that vein for a bit.

The Tringlomane Interview:

https://wizardofvegas.com/forum/questions-and-answers/gambling/13804-questions-for-triglomane/#post237899

IBeatYourAces has stated that he will not answer any personal questions, and common sense would dictate that he would not answer any questions about his current AP activities or anything of that nature. It was tough to find a balance of questions that would not impinge upon his privacy or, "Job security," but to still have all of the questions be interesting and/or informative at that same time. For this reason, I would politely implore IBeatYourAces to only ignore any questions that he cannot find a way to answer without giving more information than he likes, and to attempt to answer all questions, if only to a limited extent.

I'd also like to thank IBeatYourAces for doing this interview, it's sure to be interesting.

1.) How long have you been a professional advantage player, and, what were your best and worst years in terms of profit/loss...please do not specify what years?

2.) What is the most unique or unusual advantage play you have ever found, discluding any advantage plays that you are presently exploiting?

3.) We understand that you play a good deal of video poker in your advantage play exploits, generally speaking, how do you account for the possibility of drawing a W2G in determining your ER?

4.) Discluding any flashing dealers whom you are presently exploiting, what is the longest period of time during which you were able to exploit a flashing dealer?

5.) On how many occasions have you been read the trespass act at a casino? And, have there been any cases in which you have been back-roomed and were made to feel in fear of your physical well-being?

6.) You have mentioned that you won't play Blackjack without a flashing dealer, although there have been significant details provided at APHeat.net recently pertaining to card-counting blackjack side bets and how there is relatively little heat because the card rooms have little reason to care if their games are being beaten. Have you ever taken advantage of any of these side bet opportunities in the CA card rooms?

7.) We've had a good deal of discussion on these Forums about Progressive slot machines, given the increased comp dollars and points that one will occasionally receive from slots as opposed to video poker, do you incorporate any advantage slot play into your repertoire?

8.) You have mentioned that you do not play any -ER games, but let's say that, for one day, the House Edge on all of the Table Games in the casino was 0.00, but you still got comp dollars/points, what game would you play just because you think it is fun?

9.) We understand that you take a majority of your meals at the casino whether it be by way of comp dollars or straight comps, but do you get into so much detail as to look at the ER of converting your comp dollars (for buffets/restaurants) into Free Play and eating elsewhere?

10.) On a percentage basis, could you break down your AP play by game?

11.) How many drawings have you won in which your entries were somehow based upon your points for the day? At a guess, how many do you think you could have expected to win at this point?

12.) Have you ever been backed-off of video poker machines?

13.) What would you say is a relatively common advantage play that many AP's miss, or for some reason, choose to ignore?

14.) You seem like an intelligent guy who manages his finances well, at what age do you consider retirement from full-time advantage play, or do you believe that you will never feel the need to retire?

15.) In the last decade, what do you think is the one step that many casinos have taken, other than CSM's, that have hurt AP's the most?

16.) I don't believe that you have ever mentioned edge-sorting, do you engage in that form of advantage play, and, if so, what percentage of your overall play would you say is comprised of edge-sorting?

17.) Discluding any casinos which may presently be applicable, what casino, in your experience, had the softest dealers with respect to hole-carding?

18.) Of all of the games in which you can get an advantage by hole-carding, which one do you play the most?

19.) It is my understanding, pursuant to APHeat.net, that Card Craps is countable if playing from the Dont's, have you ever card-counted that game?

20.) If you were not a professional advantage player, what sort of work are you: A.) Most qualified to do AND: B.) Would most like to do?

Conclusion

I would ask that all follow-up and/or additional questions be stayed until IBeatYourAces completes the initial survey, and thank everyone in advance.

IBeatYourAces, the floor is yours:

How many hours a week are you typically devoting to AP? And what percentage of that is away from the table research for new opportunities?

This was when I was in vegas so I missed it. Why all the deletions,
I hate melodrama. What's the point of doing the interview in the

With all due respect to IBYA, I'm not sure why he deleted it, most of his answers were ten words or less.

That reminds me, I need to PM KewlJ to see if he wants to be interviewed.

I hold no ill will toward him, as I can think of any number of reasons why he would want to redact his answers. I just wish I had been here to read them ;)

On a positive note, there will be a new thread forthcoming at some point next week in which I will be interviewing KewlJ.

I have no will towards IBYA, either, rather like him. I just didn't feel as though his answers revealed very much...if anything...so was surprised he deleted them.

I'd be surprised if KewlJ reveals very much.

There wasn't much there to begin with. He's a man of few words, which is good for the line of work he is in.

I think you should be ready to be surprised.

KewlJ seems very selective about what he will choose to discuss with respect to AP, but with those items that he will discuss, he is both specific and exacting in his replies.
