Not sure how to evaluate the value of the below outlined offer from Harrah's Laughlin:

Every Monday in June 3, 10, 17, and 24 you will receive a progressive multiplier, meaning for each Monday you swipe your player's card, your multiplier will increase from 4x, 5x, 9x, to 12x. The multiplier works as "Example 5x: Earn 1,000 Tier Credits and 1,000 earned Reward Credits plus 4,000 promotional reward credits will be deposited into your account. Bonus Tier Credits awarded do not affect Reward Credit multipliers. You will also receive two nights accommodation for each stay. I am in Vegas, I would have to drive the 1:15 to Laughlin on Monday after work, play for three hours max and drive back to Vegas Tuesday morning. I would roughly guess playing $0.25 5 Play Super Times Pay Poker in three hours I could roughly earn 1,000 Tier credits. Therefore, I would project to earn (4 x 1000 TC = 4,000 BTC) + (5 x 1000 TC = 5,000 BTC) +(9 x 1000 TC = 9,000 BTC) + (12 x 1000 TC = 12,000 BTC) for a total of 4000 TC and 30,000 BTC. 4000 TC would move me to Platinum Status for the year. Normally, $10 in Video Poker earns you 1 TC. If I exclusively played SXP Poker JoB, the Wiz states: "In case you're wondering, the game was 9-5 Jacks or Better Super Times Pay. The return on that game is 98.72%. I know that isn't great, but for a Harrah's casino it is a good find. On that machine, Bonus Reward Credits were earned at a rate of 83% of Base Reward Credits. That makes the effective comp rate 0.183% on that machine at least." So I am not sure how the two combine to determine if this offer is something I could exploit.

The other theory would be drive down and swipe the first three weeks and play $100 go to bed and drive back. Then go back the fourth week and play the crap out of the 12x bonus. If I left at roughly 6 on Monday, I could be there by 7:30. The promotion would allow me to play until 2:59am on Tuesday morning.

Questions: (1) Any value in the above offer?
(2) What is the best strategy?
(3) What kind of bankroll are we projecting for the best strategy? Is $1,000 enough?

Thanks in advance for any strategic plans.

Note if you did 1000 Tier for each day you would gain 8000 Tier points for status purposes.

If I was going to go through with it, I would definitely try to get as much play in with the 12X. And this applies to video poker with these multipliers? In terms of maximizing the promo, I really have little clue on what's best, but I would think > $1000 total bankroll would be needed. The fact it's Laughlin makes it a lot less tempting unless you frequently like going there.

Your math is off a little, if you get 1,000 tier points in one day they give you an extra 1,000 tier points.
If you get 2,500 tier points in one day they give you 5,000 extra tier points.

So 2 days of 2,500 points gets you 5k + 10k tier points or diamond in 2 days.

I wish I would have been aware of this additional credits as I would have focused all my play to Harrahs while I was in Laughlin. Live and learn I guess.

Does anyone know though if this multiplier is worth the drive to Laughlin for though? Any advantage?

You are getting extra reward credits (but not extra tier points)

100 rewards credits is equal to $1 of value in comps, short for "complimentaries".
For example, if a player has 10,000 rewards credits, he or she can use them to get $100 in comped drinks or towards a room.

2,500 * 12 = 30,000 * 2 days = $600.00 in food while having to bet $25,000.00/(50k if you are playing VP or Caveman keno) over two days?

From a +E.V. percentage the promotion isn't great, but if you are going to play anyway it is probably worth it. Caesar's base rate for VP is 0.05% in freeplay, so the multipliers will put you at 0.20%, 0.25%, 0.45%, and 0.60% respectively. That won't put you at positive E.V. but it will put you at 99%+, which isn't bad. You get double the value if you use the points for Caesar's food and rooms, if that is worth anything to you. You also get double points if you play slots. (You are a slots player too, I believe?)

All in all, good gamble, though not positive E.V. Depends how much you like Laughlin, I guess :)

Caesar's Windsor used to do a similar progressive RC's thing, except they would go up to 25x and that would be retroactively applied to all your sessions if you went all four days. Needless to say, that was extremely lucrative when you played low H.E. games.
