Hey, there's this casino I frequent that allows you to bet a non multiple of $5 on the banker bet, for example $9 to win $8.75. What does this do to the house edge? I don't suppose it could make the game profitable if you constantly bet $9 on the banker?

Almost wipes it outQuote: TheguyoverthereWhat does this do to the house edge?
Care to show the math for this?
Not counting Ties I get for $9 Banker win and 25 cents comm
EV: -0.00385625
HE: -0.000428472
Too small for my eyes.
Why would any casino do this to such a nice game?
You do not have the edgeQuote: TheguyoverthereI don't suppose it could make the game profitable if you constantly bet $9 on the banker?
but a very nice ev/sd ratio.
Just a little tiny amount of good luck over many shoes to show a profit.
Good Luck!

It's at the Royal Casino in Washington state, but they're removing it within a month and replacing it with a "double action" blackjack table (just blackjack with some side bet). I guess it wasn't getting enough play and they were losing money on it. Now that i know that it almost wipes out the house edge, if I get a chance to play it before it disappears I'll be super stoked! I'll also have to investigate other casinos in Washington that have Baccarat and see if they allow bets in non increments of $5....
Thanks!
