It is a brutal and humbling test. I am hoping more people will register with me so I'll have some company when licking my wounds afterward. Meanwhile, I'll dust off my dunce cap from last year and get it ready.
The question for the poll is will you take the test?
Quote: WizardOnce a year Jeopardy has an online qualification test. This year the test dates are Jan 28, 29, and 30. The first step is to register for the test. Then log into the Jeopardy web site no less than one hour before one of the testing times to take it.

I'm not. But son of SOOPOO will. He is an odds on favorite to ace the test, as he is the crossword expert, as well as a trivia expert. If he does get invited for an interview I will have him reach out to BBB and teddys for advice. He knows a few dozen other show appearers. Via the crossword puzzle world. Huge overlap. I truly believe if he makes it to the show he has a chance to be a big winner. His crossword and trivia training focus on speed. He has some hand/eye coordination as a great racquetball player as well.
I'm setting myself up for a big letdown.....

I see no reason why I won't take it tomorrow. For now, I'll get the dunce cap ready, which I'm sure I'll be wearing soon.
However, I may be out of the office at 5:00 today, in which case there is always Wednesday and Thursday.

Son of SOOPOO is doing the test tomorrow (Wednesday).

Has he not done it before?

I shall too. May the questions be easy and about bugs.

He has not. He made some feeble excuse saying he was studying or some such and wanted to be sure he’d win when (if) he gets selected. His mother and I applied appropriate pressure and told him to get to off the can. Crossword competition comes in March. I’ll revive that thread in February. He was 3rd last year.

I can help him get on if he does well on the test. Be sure and let me know what he thinks his score is.
Joon Pahk is a Jeopardy legend, as is Eric Aasgard. They can both help him as well.
I definitely want to talk to him before the audition. It's about more than the tests.

Hahahahaha! I still dream about that moment once in a while. Wake up with my buzzer hand twitching, too.
I picked the "one F" answer, so anybody else, feel free.
Any kindergartener who's ever opened the bag knew that one. I just didn't realize the significance of the category, that they would deliberately be misspelled, fast enough in the moment.
Ah, well.

THANKS! I'd say David is friends with Joon, and friendly with Erik (Agard).... (I think Thor is from Aasgard....)
I will DEFINITELY have him give you a call.
Very humbling.
Quote: SOOPOOSon of SOOPOO reports he got 5 wrong out of 50. So my advanced math tells me he got 45 out of 50 correct.
My congratulations to him! I was closer to getting 5 right out of 50 than 5 wrong. When he gets on the show, I would be happy and honored to cheer him on.
Quote: gordonm888I justviewed Tuesday's test, as posted by Wizard. I personally felt it was much easier than Wednesday's test.
I agree 100%.

I would be surprised if the Jeopardy people don't use a 'curve' when grading the test. Like David's 45 on the harder day is equal to someone's 47 on the easier day.
Can anyone find a source with the questions AND answers?

That should get an audition. 95% sure of it. Put me in touch with him, please. I don't think I have his number any more.

Not to doubt you, but when James Holtzhauer was in the Tournament of Champions he said he had been taking the online Jeopardy test for years and only in 2019 got invited to the next step. I can't remember where I read it, but I thought they randomly pick people who passed the test for a live audition.

Somebody else, who you know, just called me Eeyore the other day, because I'm such a pessimist.

It's not random.
