I am not surprised. If he bets it all and gets the question wrong he would be in terrible shape for the last round. By betting what he did he is now in a commanding lead without risking it all. If he missed the answer he would still be in contention.

Her and James look like brothers. Okay, brother and sister, but you get the point.
She's the opposite of extremely attractive by most anyone's standard. I think there's even a scientific and mathematical formula that can be used to define Beauty and it's almost certain she falls away out of line with that.
If the Wizard finds her extremely attractive... I'll have to leave it at that, since just about anything I would say would be seriously suspension worthy.

Atractiveness is subjective. By the way, are you still wearing pantyhose around town? I guess that is attractive to you.
You obviously KEEP confusing me with DarkOz and his story(I'm sure he'll be along to correct what he actually said regarding pantyhose). But that's okay, I've come to expect you to be oftentimes confused.Quote: WatchMeWinAtractiveness is subjective. By the way, are you still wearing pantyhose around town? I can think of a few good reason someone might defend attractiveness as something subjective. Whatever the case, it's not as subjective as you may think. There's usually a consensus who is beautiful and who isn't.
Now be honest, do you find Emma extremely attractive?
Then again, I'm talking to somebody who obviously believes the house edge on craps is subjective.
Meanwhile, has Alex Trebek read his final answer?
May both rot in hell. Hell has a special place for Jimbo, Alex, Epstein, the Climate retard, “Nathan” OJ, and others like them.
Of course most here don’t believe in Heaven or Hell so all is good.

Lumping them with every non member here who obviously sucks and wants to destroy America. And punish hard work and anyone who has found success in America.

Not surprising at all and should do better than Super Jeopardy! (the last time ABC put a Jeopardy! format nationwide.) I honestly paid more attention to the Monopoly game show that followed it.

Yeah. Bring on the wagering. Three-match sweep? Most buzz-ins in a game? First box selected in a round? Will a category repeat during the tourney? Biggest DD wager?
Quote:That means the tournament can last anywhere from three to seven days.
Shouldn't that be anywhere from six to fourteen days?
No. We'll have an hour of Jeopardy each day. Each day they will play two games, back to back.Quote: GialmereShouldn't that be anywhere from six to fourteen days?

Is this who will finish better? In the case of a Jennings win, does whoever finish second win the bet?
Or is this a push if Ken Jennings wins? Or are you just betting outright that Rutter will win?

Winner take all. Jennings win is a push. I don't care about relative rankings, who's 2nd or 3rd.
James Holzhauer: 5-4 ($100 bet would profit $125)
Ken Jennings: 7-4 ($100 bet would profit $175)
Brad Rutter: 3-1 ($100 bet would profit $300)

I'm sure the other two will be honing their buzzer skills, but there's nothing like the 'live fire' testing James has done over the course of the past year.
I also think his DD strategy is superior, but I wouldn't be surprised if the other two modify their strategies to wager similarly.
Quote: MDawgWhat is this James guy's background? He seems educated and obviously well read, great mind, yet he chose to do nothing with his life but become a professional gambler? Even some of the big gamblers you read about transferred their skills to something more mainstream, like Wall Street. Now James is vindicated in his career choice dollar wise anyway, by winning big at Jeopardy but still.
Some people cant be tied down to a 9-5. I am guessing he could have had a real good one but maybe he would be miserable and decided against it.

I thought you were going to say "be a doctor" or a scientist or something. I don't really see any difference from gambling and wall street, as far as "doing something with your life." You're probably more likely to do things you're ashamed of on wall street. Gamblers don't pay off politicians to start wars. If you are pro sports bettor, as opposed to a tout, you aren't fleecing clients for pointless fees.
Neither one is really building anything or helping anybody.
I don't know what he does with his extra time and money.
Casino gambling...there is no certainty. I've managed to stay ahead but trying to make a living out of it is not wise, and I do it for fun. Sports betting - all those sports bettors claim they have a system and can win but if that were so the casinos and bookies wouldn't be making so much money off them. The point spreads are there for a reason.

I’m confident that if you gave sports betting a shot, you’d be a consistent winner.

Want to find an impartial third party, we'll both escrow money to them, and you can book all my bets? That'd make my job a whole hell of a lot easier and profitable. I mean, uhh, you'll get all of my money in no time, yeah, that!
Quote: JoemanI've got to think that "Jeopardy James" has a big advantage over the Ken and Brad simply because he has played on the Jeopardy! stage most recently. I would imagine the knowledge bases of all three are about equal; so from what Babs and others have said, it will be a game more about working the buzzer than breadth of knowledge.

Okay...
I have to wonder how much the odds reflect recent memory. Suppose, for example, that Holzhauer's domination occurred 15 years ago and that this season a guy named Ken Jennings had gone on 74 game winning streak. Would not Jennings now be favored to win the goat tourney with discussion centered on his superior "aggressive but tempered with some caution" approach to the game?

Cutoff has to be today. Rumor is they start shooting the games in the next couple days, on a closed set, so bets need to be in place.
KJennings win is no bet. James wins the series, I pay 100. Brad wins, you owe me 200.
Edit : SM777 has apparently passed. Aye, you have.it. Starts.on page 57 of this thread.

Got it. I am counting on the rust to give the most recent champ an edge. I’m hoping the producers don’t stack the categories against James in order to keep it competitive.
