NO. Clearly, you can do whatever you want, but that is an incorrect rationale for a decision. If the declaration is a vote (by one or more captains), then the declarations occurred before the round began, and therefore must be considered a "pre-vote" which you said earlier you would not accept.
Captains apparently are not consulting with their teams again this round as in the previous round. Some of us would like to actually participate in the Coop Game II that we signed up to play in. Just saying.

It's so easy! Wiz has already given it away. All we gotta do is...

Thank you, I was never in doubt. I only sent one or two PM's or private communication to each member and trusted it/them thereon. I did receive a few PM's and private communications with people who cast some doubt on my picks, but I really didn't let that make me sweat or change my confidence level much. I never really wanted to change my final decision at any point. I honestly think I could have done 13 team captains without a problem(I'm only sad I couldn't have picked all 13 PEOPLE who I was confident in). I was confident enough that I took myself off the original list and replaced myself with someone else(I didn't have to as I was eligible to be a team captain as per me and Mikes conversation).
I will be adding my extra $5 I get from Mike to any +EV pooling plays we make after the game is over.
I REALLY want to thank everyone who I picked and thank them for acting honorably even though it's just a game.
I don't think any of them would have broke no matter what they were offered. Any offer that was so great it was worth stealing I'm sure they would have let me know so we could have made a decision that was better for everyone.
IMO Romes should have to toss that $10 steal offer in the pool. Its like he offered somthing he knew he would never have to pay out.

Congrats to my fellow.captains! There were rumors afoot ( may have been lies to manipulate me) that someone had fracked. Really pleased to.see.they were false.

Not true at all. First thing I did was contact OD to take the bet with you on the stipulation that I was a captain... and then I was going to steal... and put your $25 bet with him towards the pool anyways (so everyone got the same amount of money, but it would have been a funny one up on you). I liked Mission’s suggestion, and even staked out #4 for us. As an independent, I don’t mind the final configuration as long as my team gets a piece of the action.

That’s a good idea, but make sure the number is NOT four, now.
I wanted to announce it because I wanted the range to be 1-3 for the other teams, so nobody could try to get cute. As long as everyone else promises to stay within 1-3, the seventh team can pick 1,487,544 and it wouldn’t make a practical difference.

Secondary objective has to be something, so I'm for maximising the take of 'the big pool'

Tertiary objective : To see if Axel shares those objectives. Hard to tell, but he effectively works towards them.

We just want to make sure the $25 goes out this round. It’s a game against Wizard first and foremost. I recognize the possibility that the small pool doesn’t get anything, but I’m not too concerned by it.

The big pool people want to have team 5 win, with team 2 and team 4 as second choices. The worst would be if team 7 wins.
OD has said his team is picking 1. If true, Axel's matching 1 is smart, as Axel does not want his team to win, as only 2 of 4 are in the big pool.
Team 5 should pick 2. Team 2 should pick 3. These are 'big pool teams. Team 4 has a solo captain, so whatever number they pick is irrelevant. Same with team 7.
Team 3 should pick a random very large number just in case teams 4 and 7 pick 2 and 3 to try and foil the plan.
Guarantees the most money for the big pool. King SOOPOO has spoken. Really pretty easy as long as the 'big pool' players want to maximize 'big pool' money.

Easy pickings. Even if you lie (I expect that) you picking another number likely does you no good as well. But this set of rules is just different enough that if the captains aren't keen enough to follow my lead then anything can happen.

Apart from jokingly saying I'd picked 3 a few posts back, I have not lied in any round. I'd lobbied and cajoled, but not lied. I'm absolutely sticking with #1 for this round. I invite Axel, or some other captain of 'non-big pool' team to also bid 1. I support the big pool. A reminder that the big money finale is approaching soon, and I will remember who brought a gift to my daughter’s wedding, and who didn’t. There was some big money on the line in round 7, and I showed good faith by sacrificing for the big pool.
A small remembrance now will yield benefits in a few rounds.
