One of my many ways to waste time is playing Othello. In my many years of playing Othello I have never seen a shutout before, until just now. In case you're wondering, my last move was H7, which flipped B7 to G7.

I have forgotten the rules. Does your opponent now have the option to take A8 (then G2 or H1 later), or does every move have to result in a flip?

Did you ever see that fairly dumb slot machine based on the game, where the biggest jackpot was, in fact, obtained when you achieved a shutout?

Every move has to result in a flip.

Yes! I meant to do an analysis of it, but it went the way of the dodo bird before I got started.

I used to wast time playing it last year when I had a job where there was about 6 free hours to kill in an 8 hour shift. I eventually learned how to force a shutout in I forget how many moves. Eventually I found a new game to play.
