Quote: WizardI'm open to that. Specific ideas?
Seriously, as a healthy lifestyle advocate, I'm thinking about making #5 the last McNugget challenge.
One meal is not unhealthy.
Running some numbers: 127-128 is where you should be filling up; 170 is a typical limit; 187-188 is the limit for someone who is an outlier; 200 is a good number to shoot for to be truly great
Yeah, well, during our Sunday walking tour, as we considered lunch options, he suggested MSS buffet so he can load up on salads and vegetables. He also explained how that was part of the, ahem, "training".Quote: WizardI spoke with PokerGrinder quite a bit yesterday. He is taking this very seriously and has been eating in such a way to maximize his chances for a few days now. I'm not saying he will hit 100 but it should be a very good show.
Except when we got to there, and the smells hit him, he said, "F--- that. Lemme eat."
He then proceeded to load up on the same crap I was eating - but he ate more of it, so...
Quote: TomGOne meal is not unhealthy.
Exactly. Doing it 3 times a week is unhealthy,
doing it once is meaningless as far as your
health is concerned.
Will someone be livestreaming the event?
Quote: DJTeddyBearHe also explained how that was part of the, ahem, "training".
Training has nothing to do with it. Either
your system can take the grease overload
or it can't. It's that simple. Or the sugar
and carb overload in a pie eating contest.
Or the volume of food in a hot dog contest.
That's why skinny women are often champs.
For some reason, they can tolerate extremes.
If this guy has never done it before, that odds
are against him. Participants in eating contests
have done it many times, they know their
limitations. A newbie has no idea what he's
up against.

Jeez thanks for ratting me out DJ :p
I suspect that everyone is rooting for you PG, well except those that wagered the dark side ;-)Quote: PokerGrinderJeez thanks for ratting me out DJ :p
Don't hurt yourself, and good luck!

Skinny woman are thr ideal because the stomach doesnt have fat surrounding it and preventing it from stretching.
Quote: AyecarumbaWill someone be livestreaming the event?
No. I think the best we can offer is text updates and a photo from time to time.
Can I get two volunteers, one who will be present at the challenge and one to transcribe texts to posts during the event?
Ratting you out?Quote: PokerGrinderJeez thanks for ratting me out DJ :p
Should've been like a politician: Deny, deny, deny... :B

Sorry you're right. I did not have sexual relations with that buffet... Err I mean woman.
Who is that DJTB guy anyway, never met him...
Youuuuuu Might be a bad man, er, rascal ;-)Quote: GWAEI just ate 2 dozen buffalo chicken wings for solidarity.
I'm at craps
In this corner, the relatively unknown challenger, the mysterious Canadian force to be reckoned with, PokerGrinder.
In the other corner, well there's not really another corner.
On the other side, the dark side, there are some that feel the feat cannot be accomplished.
The crowd gathers, there is some last minute wagering, the challenger walks into the arena and the house goes silent. This guy looks serious, others glance to their right and left wondering, wondering what will unfold.
Somewhere back in the back of the arena they start cooking nuggets, lots of nuggets. Everyone's got a poker smile on their face, some are bluffing and worried, but a poker face is a poker face.
The contender sits, rounds of applause from the audience.
And then, and then, the secret weapon is revealed.........
............to be continued (after this brief commercial break )........
What was the "secret grease fighting weapon?"
Who can all you guys walk ten feet past a craps table and not look?Quote: DJTeddyBearMeeting spot?
I'm at craps
Whatever. I may have missed the first 30 nuggets, but I'm up $155.
The challenger looks strong, and big...
First 20 or thirty in a couple bites, like only 5 minutes or so..
This one, this one could be the the one, can he do it?
Pause for another commercial break......
Quote: KonbuHalfway point! 50 nuggets down the hatch @ 1215 pm.
How's the pace Konbu? Is he showing signs of slowing? One every 15 seconds is a pretty good pace...
Quote: KonbuHalfway point! 50 nuggets down the hatch @ 1215 pm.
I would be interested in how confident is he right now? Does he still believe he is going to do it?
Konbu, do we have a good connection?
Quote: KonbuAnd... 60 nuggets has disappeared at 1222pm, in 19 min 30 sec.
Pace is slowing, but 75 should be in reach. I'm gonna owe the Wizard...
I was expecting an update on 70 about three minutes ago... maybe I don't owe the Wizard after all...Quote: KonbuAnd... 60 nuggets has disappeared at 1222pm, in 19 min 30 sec.
Quote: Konbu70 nuggets disappeared into oblivion at 1229pm, in 26 min30 sec! Our challenger has slowed his pace and appears to be struggling a little. The 74.5 should be no problem but 100 appears to be difficult at this time.
It appears my only hope now is a reversal of fortune...
Quote: KonbuThe milestone of 75 nuggets has been reached at 1234pm! We have non WOV spectators! A table of 4 customers finished their meal already but have taken an interest in the challenge and are hanging around a bit longer.
Who else is there Konbu? DJTB, Wizard, you...
There's still the waiting period... Viva Acid Reflux!... hehe.. A new WoV record!Quote: Konbu90 done! at 1248, in 45 minutes~! The end is in sight!
Congratulations PG on getting the 100 nuggets down to begin with...I do hope you can hold on for the countdown.
Quote: KonbuGooooal!!! 100th nugget downed in 53:47!!! 10 minutes countdown!
Congratulations PG!
Thanks for the blow by blow Konbu!
YES and YES!Quote: AyecarumbaCongratulations PG!

Way to go, PG!
Great commentary, Konbu!
