In French Canada, they probably wouldn't even have the contest as just before it starts, somebody from the provincial government would have the McDonald's shut down because the labels on the McNugget boxes had the English text in a slightly larger size than the French text.
Mcallister3200: No I will not be dipping them in maple syrup although that actually would probably taste really good. Also I am definitely not French-Canadian (thank G-d lol) I am from Manitoba.
2F: Getting drunk while doing the challenge, would that help or hinder what I am trying to do?
ThatDonGuy: Pretty much, those Frenchies think the world revolves around them. (my bad if anyone here is French-Canadian)
I truly have no idea, I just assumed you were drunk when you took on the challenge ;-)Quote: PokerGrinderOk so I will try and answer all the questions.

Now having a hard time following the odds, I'd like to bet on you, I often do silly stuff;-)

If remember correctly from earlier challenges you can only consume items sold at McDonalds during the challenge.
they don't sell alcohol at mickeyD's in Vegas? There's something been overlooked by corporate here ;-)Quote: DRichIf remember correctly from earlier challenges you can only consume items sold at McDonalds during the challenge.

Soopoo Jr brought lemonade and what looked like Powerade.
Quote: DRichIf remember correctly from earlier challenges you can only consume items sold at McDonalds during the challenge.
This is incorrect. David was allowed to consume anything he wanted in addition to the McNuggets. He did have some lemon flavored beverage that he used to help moisten the grease laden McNuggets.
I set the even money over under line at 76 McNuggets.

How about the French French? I hear when Germany won the World Cup in 2014 the Germans got so loud and rambunctious that France surrendered, just out of caution.

I'd like to take under 76 for the $50 I lost on Ben Carson.

Me 'setting a line' does not mean I plan or hope to actually bet on this. As I actually do not personally know pokergrinder, I am of course really in the dark as to his realistic chances. For all I know he will be more pathetic than DJATC! (not possible?). I am willing to bank a single bet of up to $5, just for the action.

Okay, I'll set a real line:

FYI the only way that I stop at 87 exactly is if I puke at that point. If I get to 87 I don't care how sick I feel two more nuggets are going down the hatch.
Maybe that's the key, to eat them so fast before it hits you.
Quote: HunterhillThere is a video on Youtube of a guy who ate 100 in 4:44 seconds. If it's real thats pretty amazing.

I'd have to see that in person, I mean that's one every 3 seconds. I would say that's extremely unlikely.

That may be right. Once your brain says yoi are full then it is over. Now some people like me where that part of the brain doesn't work, it is usually the pain of stomach stretching thst makes me stop.
What is the rule on reversal of fortune? Obviously during the challenge it is a lost but how long after the 100th is ok?
Quote: GWAEWhat is the rule on reversal of fortune? Obviously during the challenge it is a lost but how long after the 100th is ok?
I had to review the rules from Challenge #2
As you can see, I go over them in the beginning. To answer the question, you have to keep them down 10 minutes after the 100th Nugget.

Quote: MaxPenThe problem is McDonald's, there are some serious chemicals in those things. Go try some actual ones. I would say after 20 you will feel like the forty you tried.

I'm in for $100 on the No, and another $100 on the under 74.5. I assume a reversal of fortune is a win for the under regardless of the number consumed to that point. Please confirm.
Also, what happened with your cousin-in-law?? The way he inhaled the burger, I thought we had a real threat to SooPoo Jr.'s record.

I don't understand the ever changing odds and how to express them either (sigh).

Funny you should ask. I just heard he had some kind of medical episode. He doesn't have health insurance, so we're not sure what it is, but it seems obesity related and he has sworn off future eating challenges.

I'm confused myself. I did want to offer you dibs on the bet since you put the line up. If you don't want action I'll book it with PG. Pokergrinder if you want to bet $100 to win my $200 that you can eat over 74.5 mcnuggets you got a deal. I don't know if I've met you before or not but can someone vouch for you? I'm weary about making bets with forum members since the SA incident.

Be careful, PG, McNuggets are not like any other 'nuggets.' I would advise you do a trial run "South of the Border" at a real McD's.Quote: PokerGrinderI just did a trial run with non McDonalds chicken nuggets (I had them in the freezer). I ate the equivalent of 40 and was full, not uncomfortable and definitely had a ways to go before hitting the proverbial wall.
While I do think what is in a McNugget may at one time have been parts of an actual chicken (beaks and feet mostly, I think ;) ), you were spot-on with your original assessment:
Quote:American nuggets look like processed crap breaded in more processed crap and then fried in dirty oil lol.
McD's is currently running a "McPick 2" promotion (I think it's national) for two 10-piece McNuggets for $5. I don't know if it will last until the 16th, but that's only a single green chip for the whole challenge.Quote:Also I don't know the actual price in Canada but nuggets are a lot more expensive here because they are actually made of chicken lol. I think 20pc is almost $10.
Good luck, PG, I'm pulling for you!
So we have a line of 74.5. What if he makes it to 76 and calls it quits. Is there still a 10 minute wait before purging? What if he is on 91 and vomits, is that automatically an under?

I have not met you before, I've only been on the forum for about a year. If you are ok with it I will hand the Wizard $100 before starting the challenge so that you are covered. I have never not paid up a bet though. Does this work for you? I have over 74.5?

Even without the McPick 2 (and I have a feeling it's permanent - and it is nationwide), pretty much every McD's I went to had 20 for $5. For some strange reason, 10 were $4 (and they still are, if you get just one box instead of two). Note that there may be a "run" on McNuggets as they're part of the current Monopoly promotion. (Speaking of which, if I read the rules right, McDonald's just made the "I have Park Place; if you have Boardwalk, we'll split the money" scam harder, as the game piece with Boardwalk appears to have Park Place already attached to it. McDonald's made it much easier to know if you have a "rare" piece, as they now have phone numbers on them - you call the number when you complete that piece's set.)
As for what's in a McNugget, I think the original ones were made from the infamous "pink slime," but I'm pretty sure newer ones are white meat. What the coating is is still anybody's guess.

It was a phony line. Frankly, I think it is in bad gambling etiquette to suggest a bet and not follow through. However, he was evidently just saying what he thought a fair line should be.
I'll take $100 of that action. Can we consider it confirmed?
I've got at least three sets of negotiations going. From now on, please PM your bet requests to me. I reserve the right to move my lines after a bet is booked.

I've always bought them. There are usually plenty left over afterward, free for the taking. Last time I had to go to the Greyhound station to give them away.

Lines can get long at that McDonalds and they tend to not make stuff in advance like other McDs. I don't want the contestant to have to wait on a re-load. What I do will also depend on the temperature PG likes the nuggets.

I will probably go with 60 to start and then about halfway through those get the other 40 made.
