Just challenge the NHL haters to lace 'em up anytime, anywhere and see how they do. Then have them pick any of the other "professional sports" and see how the hockey players do. The hockey player wins the combined challenge 9 out of 10 times, without a doubt!

All I am saying is put your NFL'ers on skates and watch 'em tremble before they "Bambie" on the ice....we'll throw some football pads on any power forward in the NHL and he'll do a hell of a lot better on the gridiron!

I believe it is Minneapolis.

Put the NHL power forward on WWE. Never mind, those guys are real athletes.

How can this thread go so far off topic? Lion ShareQuote: BuzzardBefore I get suspended as a sports bigot, allow me to state I can think of 125 reasons to watch a NHL game. Maybe even more if it was a professional sport.

Miss you Buzzard.
Was in Vegas 6 months ago in December.
A friend/coworker asked me to put 5 bucks on the Tampa Lightning to win the Stanley cup.
Decided to throw in 5 bucks myself for a total 10 dollar bet for Tampa to win the cup.
Got back from Vegas in December and gave the betting ticket to my friend and forgot about it.
Now with the lightning in the cup, my coworker brought the ticket to my attention.
10 bucks to win 130.00 :-) Go Lightning.

Never been a hockey fan (raised in the the old South) but my 2 sons are (10&12). They are rooting for the Blackhawks. They both play, just rollerblade not Ice (yet). And they are pretty good. Tryouts for the State team coming soon, team competes in the nationals.
Hate to see you lose your $10, not to mention not wining the $130.
Got to cheer with my boys.
Wasn't really around during the 'Buzzard Days', but from what I've read there are others that miss him(her?) as well. Several others.
Cheers, 2F

If they plan on hitting the ice and have never been, get them to public skate asap. Many roller skills will transfer, but the skating aspect is completely different. Even with 20yrs experience, I can't just flip back and forth without some time in between to get used to the difference.

Was trying to keep the post shortened, but they are pretty good on ice as well, they just haven't competed there yet (again, yet). When they ask, I'll pay the $$. They dreamed this whole thing up on their on, pretty cool. You see so many parents nudging (forcing) their kids into the parent's favorite sports, not so cool.
Anyway, I'm not just typing notes to myself, as you are reading some (at least one). And I was aware, a little, of your background as a player, read some rather detailed details, back there somewhere.
Oh, I just remembered, you may have to read some as part of your responsibilities ;-( Cheers, 2F

I put 25 on the Blackhawks to win last July on a guys trip. Can't remember if it's 6-1 or 7-1. I put it in my gun safe for safe keeping. Hopefully I can cash that in on my July 17th trip this year!
I had $50 on the Ducks to win it all, bought it in September and got 10-1........was back in Vegas for the Table Games Conference in mid November and Ducks were then 12-1........added $50 more. So had $100 at average price of 11-1 on the Ducks. The Western Conference winner is going to spank the East again (sorry Bolts Fans) so I am really feel like Boudreau's inability to manage the match ups on home ice in Game 7, along with the Getzlaf/Perry not showing up cost me $1200.
Oh well, we gained more playoff experience, right? At least that is what I keep telling myself :-/.
Hawks in 6.......it would be 5 except for Bolts have home ice and my guess is Cooper will actually be able to use that advantage in his game plan.....pay attention Bruce, you might learn something!!!
Quote: Paradigm20 year Ducks Fan here, so it was a tough weekend. Was at Game 7 and somehow it all seemed so familiar, wonder why that was, I just can't put my finger on it :-/?
I got $20 here on the Blackhawks, even money. Anyone want a $20 piece of me? Do we need to do an odds thing? I'm not very good at that, but if you beat me out of my $20 I will only lose a couple minutes of sleep being angry. I'm not sure the Wiz intended for us to bet on this forum, I've read the rules a couple of times. Maybe this is NOT a sports bet platform. You tell me... I still got $20 bucks, twenty goin once, twenty goin twice.....
I recently bet that 'no one' would welcome a particular member to this forum. ( or something like that ). Of course there are AP players out here, so I immediately lost. But part of the bet was to send me a PM with an address to pay my debt. No response. I'm willing to make that bet again, any takers?
And I'm not a stalker, and I don't play baccarat. Tee hee........

Oh yes, the Wiz allows bets on this site.
In fact I have lost money to the Wiz on this site :-(
Thanks a lot rudeboyoi for your 100 mcnugget fail.
They can be spit back out after forfeiting the series -- I don't wish harm on anyone.

Bovada has the Hawks at -145 for the Cup, so you would need to lay $29 to win $20 to match the current odds per Bovada.
OK, $20 on Blackhawks, Even I could do THAT online.

Er...ditto. lol. I am the original McNugget square, I think. Got bit every time.
In fact, to publish the bet (which is often done among members) I have decided today it's time for a new Triple Crown winner, and have a bet with the Wizard on it.
Yea baby.
