Possible coffee May 10th?

Nareed and myself are going to be in Las Vegas on May 10th. Our trips happen to overlap that particular day. It's a Monday. Anybody else who happens to be/live in Vegas on that day, please, add your name to the list.

Wizard, could you do a coffee on that day?

I was thinking of proposing meeting at the Rampart. It's a double points day, and Nareed wants to play some multi-hand Deuces Wild, and they have the 10-play dimes machines with the good paytable. Wizard, I know that it's in your backyard. I will have a car, so can offer a ride to anyone who needs it.

Nareed, feel free to chime in with your opinion.

I'll be around town the whole month of May. The 10th at the Rampart sounds good. I wouldn't mind getting lunch at the Irish pub there, but am not sure if they open it that early.

Yes, Rampart is right down Rampart Avenue past Suncoast on the way to Summerlin Parkway. It's on the left.

I collect license plates from Mexico. The states I need are Baja California Sur, Campeche, Quintana Roo, and Yucatán. However, if you have one from another state just laying around, I'd be happy to it to my collection.

I was thinking of something along the lines of tequila or kahlua. I don't have any license plates, except the two in my car. But I'm making inquiries among some contacts (a cabbie and two mechanics), and hopefully they can come up with something.

Just bumping this up in case anyone missed it, or in case any of our newer members can make it on the 10th.

rats i'm going to just miss this. i would have liked to join you folks and meet all of you but i'll be in vegas from the 19th to the 30th.

i'll even just miss the crowning of the playmate of the year and the miss usa pageant! i was there in 2008 while the miss usa pageant was held but didn't know it. while playing rapid roulette a well kept but elder lady sat next to me. she was well dressed and drunk. she must have just come from the pageant as she kept saying how she could have easily beat those girls in her younger days. too funny.

well, if anyone is going to be in town around this time or if the wiz wants to shoot some hoops let me know. i may at least get to place some bets on some nba playoff games.

i stopped by there around noonish and didnt see anyone there. i couldnt stay for long anyways had to get back to work.

so went to take advantage of this $10 free slot play coupon. you had to earn 300pts first and it was double points day today so i thought i would only need to get 150 points but when i went to get my free slot play, they said i had to earn 300 base points and the double points didnt count. so the coupon wasnt as profitable as i thought it would be. i played 10cent 10play NSUD to clear it quickly by betting $5/hand.

Yes, sorry you didn't find us. We waited until about 12:05 and then went in. I asked for a table by the door in case any latecomers walked in, but didn't notice any. Besdies me it was nareed and teddys. After lunch we played some video poker. Nareed and teddys were playing the same game you did, 10¢ 10-play NSUD. I played the 9-6 jacks.

That doesn't surprise me about the points. At any casino if you're required to play a certain number of points to get something, including a higher tier player card, they usually go by base points.

This coffee happened. Nareed, teddys and the Wizard attended. We met at the Irish pub at the Rampart at around 12:05. I mentioned that Rudeboyoi might be joining but nobody had seen him. Sorry we crossed wires, boi. We ordered lunch from the pub. It was a good burger, but probably not worth $10. The Wizard had a partial comp, so we used that. Nareed brought some poker dice from Mexico. I did not have a gift, but promised to pass something along later. The conversation was one of the more interesting ones. We talked about, among other things, Mexican geography, license plates, TV trivia game shows, and video poker. Afterwards we did some gambling. Nareed played 5 cent 10-play NSUD, I played the same game at 10 cents, and the Wizard played dollar jacks ten play. He asked the waitress trivia questions for her tips. The first one was how did the Wicked Witch of the West die in the Wizard of Oz? (How appropriate!). That one was easy. The second one was which two states does Washington, D.C. border? The Wizard wanted to bet me that she wouldn't know it, but I declined. She didn't know it. (Lesson: Never book a bet against the Wizard!). The Wizard left after (I think) taking a beating at VP. Afterwards, Nareed hit the deuces twice, and I hit once, so we both left up substantial amounts of money. We had a fun time. Thank you Wizard for coming out to meet with us.

I'm going to post a slightly longer trip report in another thread.

There's not much to add, just my thanks to the Wizard for taking the time to meet with us, and to teddys for his kind offer of transportation.

It was a most enjoyable lunch and gambling session. I want to note the Wizard's quite knowledgeable about Mexico.

I'll post about the rest of my trip elsewhere.

thanks teddys for the report on the meet and your trip report elswhere, and thank you Nareed for the pics! hope you post a trip report too. LOL you are so right teddys, i would feel very uncomfortable betting against the Wizard! as he says, 'it's not whether you win or lose, it's whether or not you had a good bet', and you know he carefully calculated the 'odds'. sounds like you guys had fun and true to form sounds like you learned something from the Wizard at the same time!
