Is it possible to get good deals on golf from casinos?

My understanding is that golf comps tend to be higher level comps. I don't golf, so I never ask for them.

I don't play golf at all but would think that from a business perspective a casino would prefer to comp someone who wouldn't be leaving the casino and donning golfing attire to go to distant courses. I know the casino up in Mesquite offers golfing packages and hosts alot of golf tournaments. I would suggest looking at the various Vegas casinos that mention golfing prominently on their websites since those would likely be the ones more prone to offering comps for the various gree fees and arranging tee off appointments.

You have to be pretty high level player to get a golf comp. High black chip at least. MGM-Mirage owns the Shadow Creek course, which is very fancy and expensive. They also have some kind of arrangement with the Primm Valley course, which is 40 miles away in California. They used to own it, but I think sold it off in their efforts to avoid bankruptcy.
If you aren't big enough to get a comp, I think they can at least get you a reasonable rate. Same kind of relationship between Harrah's and Bali Hai. If you have a rental car, consider coming out to my neck of the woods and play Angel Park.
