Dear Wizard of Odds,
Thank you for such a wonderful website. I have been working on a gambling system. I was testing my system on your Baccarat simulator. I bet 1000 hands and i did quite well. Later in the evening, I found out that my internet connection had been down all day. In other words, I was playing about 19 complete Baccarat shoes offline I discovered -- after the fact. Is there a chance that I played repetitive shoes? Because I was offline, is it possible i won some units on the 1st shoe, and, then using the same system consistently on all 18 subsequent shoes offline, I kept winning because it was no longer random, meaning each subsequent shoe was the same as the 1st shoe. Did I need to be online to get a good random shuffle for each shoe?

This is the best baccarat simulator ever. But I was offline. Did I get a good random shuffle for each of the 19 shoes I played?

Thanks very much,
Mike in New York

19 shoes ? You should simulate for 19 billion shoes in order to get correct results.

Sometimes you can win at these games. You only lose 1 extra bet per shoe playing Player instead of Banker, but the 5% commission is there to set you back on Banker. 19 shoes times 80 hands is 1,520 hands. If you're betting $100/hand and losing 1.06% on Banker after that many hands you'd be down $1,611; or down $1,885 with a Player HA of 1.24%.

Now I hear the hope that all the good luck you had was from an error in the deal from a network error. When I've played the Draft Kings demo tables and the connection gets lost, play stops until the connection comes back. The hand may even be scrapped and the bet lost depending on the damage of the lost connection. I don't know how people can play online with dodgy connections like that, but mine surely is dodgy at times.

Variance can put you up 20 hands in a shoe, or put you down 20 hands in a shoe. I figure these computer software games like to figure out your play and indulge you in a winning cycle so you can play it out for a bit, then they hit you with a brick wall of non-stop losses that never stop. So you get the best of both worlds.
