They say a 'cane's a comin' to the desert SW.

Will Sin City be flooded as in the days of Noah?

Are bets being taken as to how much rain will fall on the casinos?

Stay tuned, and keep those hip boots at hand.
"What, me worry?"

It's supposed to be weakened before it even makes landfall, so by the time anything gets to Vegas it probably won't be much.

It's a Category 4 with 145 mph winds and from the tiny map on the inset screen it looks like 3 to 5 inches of rain to come with locally higher amounts. Has there ever been a hurricane like this in this area? You've got such a long-term drought situation out there in the Southwest USA, this will be a shot in the arm that could keep the dam from running dry for another year in an area that can't get a tenth of an inch of rain for months at a time.
They finally broke in with an update and only forecast 50 mph winds inland; and 1-2 inches of rain by the time it gets to Vegas. Go further west and get more rain. There will be flash flood watches and storm watches all over the place. So check your phone for updates. I use Weatherbug. High winds to hit Sunday night near San Diego. It's the first time they've ever issued a tropical storm watch in that area.

Vegas can flood with what would normally be a just an average rainy day elsewhere. If it ever rains all day there, you can get in your boat.
There's no secret. Just know what you're talking about before you open your mouth.

I wouldn't be on that.
The difference between fiction and reality is that fiction is supposed to make sense.
